So I am in the process of cleaning up my "dog closet" and I am AMAZED at the amount of collars I have...it's pretty ridiculous really when you think about it...but I am such a sucker for collars...even now, what actually prompted me to go through the collars and stuff was that I found this site a while back and am going to order a new collar for each beastie....
www.pamperedpuppy.com
It's amazing, you can even search by color....
So my question is- how many collars do you have for your corgis? Tell me I am not the only crazy one!?
(I found that Vito has a collar pretty much for every month that I have had him!)

oh, and happy shopping for those of you who get onto pampered puppy and go "Wow!":BIGGRIN"

I've bought quite a few collars for my Z's and then I have to get the matching leashes. I'm not sure exactly how many they have, but I'd bet that Zip has over 10.

I am a confessed collar nut too! I love the quicksnap collars from Old Navy - they are excellent quality and they have them for every occassion.
One year they were on sale for $2 each and I bought 25 of them!! For my dogs and all of my dog friends - I think everyone I know has a collar I've bought them.

Poor Jackie! She's deprived! She only has 3 collars . . . her fancy pink leather bling collar (with matching leash of course) that we wear when we go on therapy visits, or anywhere fancy, and 2 of the Old Navy collars (one for every day, and one with no tags for rally trials). I am a horrble, neglectful mother . . . and I am off to pampered puppy right now!!!! I hope that she can forgive me.

Ada only has a few collars... her pink and silver nylon one, her Maya handwoven collar, her snakeshin with silver concho one...
It's the Dobermans that have the most collars - they're very shorthaired, so collars are more visible on them. I must confess, Collars are my passion! They have hand-beaded ones with real stones, braided leather ones, Bella Bean collars, Ruffwar collars, imported leather collars from Italy, Germany, England, Coach collars, snakeskin collars.... everything you can possibly imagine. I think the best has to be Ronin's leather one with gold plated bones and buckle - that was a present for him, it cost about $450. I didn't buy it though, some of my very wealthy friends did! Ilsa's best collar has to be her beaded one with gold plated beads and real jade.
They also have patent leather collars with their namesd spelled out in Swarovski crystals!

Mac technically has three... the Lupine collar he wears all the time with his tags, the same collar in a larger size for when he outgrows this one, and a martingale-style collar we had to buy for him at our first puppy class!
Obviously I need to head to Old Navy.

Well, mine have an every day collar and the ones showing have show collars. If I do obedience or rally with one I'd use a different collar there too. But while my dogs do have some "accessories" (bandanas, some dresses, ruffles, etc.) they don't have a wardrobe of collars.

I haven't had Sadie long enough, and I must admit that my time with her was been focused in other directions for the first few months, but I needlepointed a personalized, gorgeous collar for my cocker spaniel - complete with gold lame doggie bones around the edges! It has a special place now that Maddy is gone as a sweet reminder of her.
I guess I need to start on one for Sadie!! :CUTE:

Chester has one collar that I wash when he gets a bath. Deprived boy. I have been eyeing the John Deer collars at our True Value, but want something else.

This thread got me thinking so I started looking. I can't believe all the choices out there.
Tell me, do any of you prefer one kind to another (nylon vs leather, etc)? Do corgi's pull out of collars a lot? Do the collars mess their fur up a lot?

I like the quick snap heavy fabric collars. A dog should not be able to slip out of a collar if it is fitted correctly - but not too tight. I like the Old Navy collars, Lupine and my favourite are RC collars - I like the quality and love the designs.

Montrose and Dylan both have the quick snap collars, so easy to take off when they go into their kennels etc.
In 13 years (Queen) Montrose is on her second royal purple collar, and Dylan is second one too.
That and their two 6 ft leather leashes are our staples.

Lupine collars/leashes are a little on the expensive side, but are the best! I can't comment on nylon vs. leather, but they wear well (at least, that's what I'll say from the month Mac has had his...he's been home for one month today!) and Lupine will replace their products if they EVER get worn out or broken, even from chewing, no exceptions :)

I have both leather and nylon. Each dog has a nice rolled leather (doesn't flatten hair as much) Sam has a really "tough" looking leather studded collar...and then I have tons of nylon. Mostly my guys where just a plain buckle- I do have some martingales but don't use them very much.
Any collar- regardless of type is going to "mess up their fur" My guys don't wear collars all the time, only when we are out and about- so they don't get "collar lines" Also both Wicca and Sam have a lot of white on their necks- so anything metal - tags, etc. will make them really gray almost right away...

Oh.... one of my favorite things! I thought I was bad about having a lot of collars but I see I am in good company!
Tuck has his green Pembroke collar, Sailboat collar Aunti Deb got him, Lupine Muddy Paws martingdale collar, Christmas collar (Lulu chewed thru hers...), and new Upcountry Collar w/ primary colors/fire hydrants on it.
Lulu has Lupine Pink Muddy Paws Martingdale collar (needs to be exchanged since she has nearly chewed thru it), Sea shell collar Anutie Deb gave her, Upcountry Purple butterflies, and a new Upcountry pink and blue bones collar and leash.
We have no leather collars, the prints are just so darn cute and fun. And mine wear collars when they are out and about but go naked in the house.
OK, OK< I'll admit it! I just checked Upcountry's sale page and oreder Lulu a new red flowered collar, each of them a new Christmas collar, and last night from Dog.com I oredered them something eles..... drawing a blank.
A credit card is a terrible thing to waste.........

my favorite collars so far have to be the spiffy dog ones. They are light weight, have good clips and have really cool patterns...

http://www.spiffydog.biz/collars.htmlOh Amanda, they have a mountain pattern one. I'll need to wait until Chester is bigger, or ask my mom if she "needs" a Christmas present to get Chester. Do you buy the medium size? They don't say the width of the collar - can you measure yours for me? Thanks.
Mine both wear boring but sensible Premier Safety Collars. They break away if caught hard on something. Link got his puppy collar stuck really bad a couple times so that's why. of course it hasn't happened with this collar yet, but better safe than sorry. I have regular collars too for times we don't want the break away feature.

merrie,
I have the "narrow" ones- I ordered from Cleanrun. On the spiffy site- they are "small" they go from 7" to 18" Vito has had his since I got him and there is still plenty of room!
Wicca has the flames one,
Vito has the yellow/Red one
and Sam has the turtle on that isn't available anymore...
Fun! Fun!

The character was actually Roseanne Roseannadanna - I misspelled it before.

Yep, that was Gilda. Her autobiography was entitled "It's Always Something" referring to her cancer, that eventually killed her. She was one of those people I thought would be great to go out to dinner with.

OK..... You all know I think life in general is one big Saturday Night Live Skit.....
I didn't want to correct Deb but here goes.....
"Never mind...." wasn't Rosanna Rosannadanna.... it was Emily Latella, the little old lady with the glasses (Gilda also). SOme of her best flubs were "making Peurto Rico a steak" (makeing PR a state.....), "stubbings in the public school system" (stabbings in the public school system...).
Roananna Rosannadanna was great but Emily Latella was my personal favorite. Of course along with The Judy Miller Show (Gilda dressed up as the Brownie Scout stuck in her room and she used to imagine herself grown up.....).
Yup, I'm sure a number of folks on this list don't remember any of this!
What would my life be like w/o SNL? I still picture dan Akroyd when I hear Bob Dole's name......
Jespah
07-25-2007, 10:49 AM
OMG - you are right Susan - I bow to your SNL knowledge :NOTWORTHY:
It was Emily Latella, my favourite of hers was "Violins on TV" - and poor old Jane would go nuts!!! Yup, she's my favourite character too. Must be my old age that I got them muddled!!!
