View Full Version : Do Your Dogs Snore?

Here the situation - The Miami Z's and I live by ourselves. Just the five of us. But recently I've been woken up in the wee hours of the morning by snoring. :ARG: As I don't think Corgis are known for snoring, I believe its either Ziggy or Zena or perhaps both. So here are my questions - does anybody know if Corgis do snore? Does anyone else have puppers that snore? Is there anything I can and/or need to do about it?

Well... I don't know about everyone else but.... my boys don't typically snore (and certainly not loud enough to wake me up)... but Delilah does! So... I guess they CAN snore, but I don't believe they are prone to it as a breed. I would think Ziggy or Zena first myself just because of the shape/size of the muzzle on CKCS.

My two don't snore. When we go to the cottage with my friend and her Cavalier, I have to wear earplugs at night as he snores so loudly. I think Cheryl is correct in that the flatter muzzled dogs are probably more prone to snoring.

Zeke and Zia don't snore either, but Zip can raise the roof!

Cindy snores- don't laugh but actually she sounds very much like my late mother when she snores so it is kind of comforting.

No snoring from Maeve either. Running in her sleep? YES!

My Corgis don't snore, but my Lab does (she lives with my mom, though, so she has to hear it!). Tess has snored all her life and she can snore VERY LOUDLY. :TWITCHY: But at least she's not as loud as my stepfather, so my mom's relived!

I don't know! I snore so loud, I wasn't aware that anyone could hear Delilah!

Tucker snores when he is totally exhausted.
Lulu dreams. She sometimes talks and sometimes moves her legs like she's got somewhere to go.

My brother's past mastiff could wake the dead with her snores. Luckily Chester's snores are more loud breathing - not the vibrating from the throat type, more like mine when I'm on my back with my mouth open!

Thanks ya'll. Its nice to know that my furbabies are not alone in their snoring! I agree with the flatter muzzle being a contributing factor in the snoring. Mr Zack is sleeping on my feet (which are falling asleep under him) and there is no snoring happening at all!

Miss Gambler snores, and the more soundly she is asleep, the louder the snoring.

Emma sometimes snores quietly ... Chloe is more of an action girl - who knows what she is chasing - maybe Zombies! :NAH:

Ada doesn't snore... but she grunts when she's confused or ticked off... her puppy nickname was 'Piglet' because of it!
Now... Ronin is another story. He's a big snorer, usually with his mouth hanging open and his tongue hanging out! Psh, boys...

Ellie snores all the time, and loud enough to wake the dead. I've learned to ignore it, but when people come over they find her snoring to be distracting. Marley, the mastiff, thank goodness has not started snoring yet, but he does howl in his sleep.

My male corgi does not snore. My 13 1/2 year old female corgi does snore, as well as expel gas when she sleeps. Thank goodness not too often, because she sleeps by my bedside.:NOTWORTHY:

:TWITCHY: Guess bedside is better than next to your side in bed! We have a little airsource machine near Chester's crate which is my nightstand. Just helps the nose on the cold nights when we have the room closed up.

Chester (Singapore) does not snore (at least we haven' heard it before) when he sleeps.
However, he does one of the following:
a) groans
b) sighs
And they are *loud*

Popcorn doesn't...Brees does. It's hard to hear them over my hubby anyway. :NAH:

Once in a while Milo snores. He tends to "talk" in his sleep more though. Sometimes all 4 legs are "running" and he makes very soft yipping yapping sounds....oh to know what he is dreaming!!
