I entered Tucker in his 2nd Agility trial and we got waitlisted! We are number 3 on the list. Any of you guys ever get waitlisted? And do I have a shot at being called?

Guess it was a full lineup. Did you enter late?
I'm not much help, I've only waitlisted on flights.:D

I wasn't all that late but yes, I did delay. It is my own fault.
I have to be so organized on my job, I hate having to be organized at home! We go to class on Mondays. Dogs go to day care Mondays and Fridays, I know that. Everything else requires planning. Oh well, somehow it seems to me that 3 people will cancel.... but who knows? There are a lot of trials coming up.

Fingers and paws crossed that you will get entered.
Organization is my middle name. I do take a break from it sometimes though, Oh, about once a year for a day.:D

I know how you feel Susan. I wish that someone else would organize something for me every once in awhile. Between my boss, my husband, my dog, my household . . . oh yeah, and me . . . all I do is plan and organize and coordinate and schedule and reschedule and . . . well, you get the idea. I will stop b*tching now. :p
Did you mention that it's THE Tucker? Agility Dog Extraordinaire? You'd think they would make room for HIM. I know I would!! I'll keep my paws crossed that he gets in. Good Luck!

Susan,
that stinks! How big of a trial is this? three people canceling out of a few hundred could happen, but if it is only 15 people it would not be likely. Are there any other trials nearby you could sign up for? that way you have a backup incase they dont call you.
I am a list maker, i have to do it to remain organized. My husband finds it funny to see me in a grocery store WITHOUT the list, i walk all over the place -lost and confused- with a list I am a shopping machine!! i am in and out in no time flat becuase i know what i want and i get it.... so for me the list is key, i write a list every morning of the things i must get done that day so i dont forget anything... then i cross off as i go... keeps me organized (and not just me, i do this for my husband and the dogs and cats too, and remind hubby of important things so he doenst have to remember - he has enough on his mind with his work to have to remember certain non business related appointments and such, so that is my job!)

Me too Em! I am The Queen of Lists! My husband makes fun of me all the time . . . but he's always asking for the list! Did you leave me a list? Where's The List? I have a list for everything - even lists that refer me to other lists or sublists!
Did I mention that I am a Virgo?

Sorry Susan,
You are unlikely to get in....I have been on waiting lists too- plenty of times actually as trials in my area fill up usually on the first day and I am so unorganised....and I have only ever gotten in once...and it was 'cause I begged a friend to pull her dogs from a few runs....
I am pretty on the ball these days however so have gotten in to most of them lately....you never know though- what is the trial date?

Well the good news is that there were 3 cancellations over the weekend so Tucker will be able to run on Saturday the 28th! No cancellations for Sunday.
Now I have no idea what I signed up for!!! I know they'll let me know but a standard run and one game (CPE Trial).
The next trial I want to enter opens on the 24th. I have the registration in envelope that is stamped and addressed with check inside hanging on my refrigerator! I will take it right to the post office.

Hooray for Tucker - just make sure you don't give him anything to drink for 12 hours before the trial ;)
In this day and age of the internet - you have to mail paper and cheques for these things???
How archaic!!

12 hours? Why, that seems like way too long to me. Would you go without drinking for 12 hours before running agility? You could get dehydrated doing that and so can a dog. Now right before running I could see, maybe an hour, but 12?

Peggy,
With Deb saying that, I am assuming there is some inside joke going on here that we don't know about.;)

There is an inside joke.
Last fall my Obedience Club had their dog show - obedience and rally-o. I entered Tucker in Novice A Rally.
When it came time to step into the ring... the Judge greeted us and gave us the go ahead. I truly believe Tucker didn't take kindly to the Judge "inviting him" into her ring because her ring was the field we normally practice on.
We took two steps and he lifted his leg on the first orange cone.
No way did he "have" to go. I truly believe he was making a statement.
The really sad part of it all was: being a newbie, I knew it was an automatic NQ but I didn't know if I was supposed to stop or go on. So we went on and Tucker was perfect. Ughhhhhh!
No peeing in agility so far!

Now I remember you telling that story; knew you would not keep him from water for 12 hours - I still like the ice fishing story also.:D

Oh, ok, that's a relief!!! I was thinking you were serious and had gone off the deep end! I get it now! :)

It's Tucker's world and we are here as his guests!
We had Weave Pole Class last night. Tucker was a weaving maniac! He was zooming thru them perfectly.
He clearly knows what I want him to do. One of the things I have been practicing is making him wait until I "command" him to weave. He thinks nothing of running thru the weave poles then looking back at me as if to say... "My treat now. please?".
What a piece of work!

Thinking about something good to eat the whole time he is working; I like a good treat myself for working hard.:)
