I thought i would start a fun thread...what are your corgis favorite toys.?
Dillon loves the Kong Squeaker Tennis balls and Football... he goes wild for them and can play fetch with them endlessly. He also loves his big pink bunny from petco that makes a cute and different sounding squeak. He loves his coleman fox ( it is a 36" long red fox with NO stuffing it it and strategically placed squeakers - one funny grunty barky sounding one in the head and a regular squaker in the tail. Dillon attacks it! he loves this thing.
Gus loves the migrator quail that "honks", he loves Dillon's pink bunny, and the purple eggplant by zanies toys. he also loves to chase Dillon while he chases his squeaker balls and they both LOVE the Kong Wubba that squeaks..
I know there are lots of other fun toys for them, and yes, any toy that has treats stuffed in them are a hit, kongs, wagglers, buster cube, and the cool orange treatball...

Chip & Dale's favorite toy is the babble ball - a 2 inch hard plastic ball that talks as it rolls. It says Good puppy and on and on. They will play with that for hours and it is the best show to watch. I ordered it through Jefferpets.

Cody's favorite toy is also the Babble Balls. He has the one Bonnie described and also the one that makes about 15 different animals sounds - This is great entertainment for him.
He also likes the light up laser sounding balls and his big orange treat dispensing ball, his grunting hedgehog and his screeching monkey. He really likes the interactive toys that make sounds. Of course when I try to interact with the cats with their feather toys, Cody thinks that he must participate also much to the cats dismay.:( I saw this clear treat ball the other day, and think I may have to get this.

Also saw these toys the other day and thought of the Warrior Princess and wondered if her mom has these already?

Okay, I know I don't have my puppy yet, so it's not fair of me to weigh in probably...
But I am personally getting a kick out of the Hedgie! I grab it once in a while to make it do it's "Grunt grunt" a few times... makes me smile every time! That and plotting things to put in Kongs.
With my luck, puppy will not like hedgie!!
Oh, and Bobo's squeaker is already not working. Between my daughter and myself playing with it and having a ball, the squeaker died. Although, it was an Easter BoBo bunny, and it wasn't a heavy duty squeaker... And it was on sale.

Cool looking clear treat ball, they can see it, smell it but they have to WORK to get it out! awesome!
The bobo doesnt last long with a dog either... I got Dillon one when he was 5 months old and it lasted an hour... i got him another when he was a year old it lasted a few hours ,and he does have one now that he has not killed, in part because i take it away when he is done playing with it ( the minute it becomes a Chew toy , it is removed) if it is being shaken, carried, bitten to make it squeak , fetched, no problem, but when he lays down and starts "working" on the weak spot ( Jess, i KNOW you know what i mean there with Jackie) then it is removed immediately and put in the closet..
One thing i did was to buy inexpensive toys as well that were designed to be torn apart. The reason for this is that the tough toys that never are destroyed , they get bored faster as part of their fun is actually "killing" their toy... so if they can't tear it apart, they give up and the toy is not fun ( i'm talking about plush type toys). I found at www.petedge.com a display of 80 toys - all zanies fleece/berber toys in different colors and varieties, when purchesed with shipping they came out to about $1.10 a toy or so - this way i would be able to pull out a new one any time an old was was "de stuffed or had a leg, arm or other body part chewed off! I still have a bunch left as Dillon has gotten less destructive with his toys over the past 4 months... one thing to note, when they do rip a hole in the toy, you should take it away so they dont eat the stuffing inside... i would watch dillon play and realized he never ate the stuffing, he just pulled it out... so with some of the expensive toys i would restuff them and sew them up ...sadly he knew the toy's weak spot and it would take him less time the second time to rip it open...

Noooo....all puppies like hedgies. :D Especially Corgis.
Rhys used to love his hedgie, his squeaky stuffed hot dog, and his "moo cow" (star of one of his Dogster videos). They are all dead now. :( Now he loves his Nylabones (which he is chewing on as I type), his Planet Dog OrbeeTuff ball, and his baby sister. :D
Andy loves the PD ball, the Nylabones, and my underthings - that's why I often call her "Andy Panties." :p

oh...something is wrong with Buta...She refuses to play fetch! I bought her a Kong ball many months ago, stuffed in a treat for her, got her attention & threw the ball to her. She look, smelled, licked abit & totally ignored the ball... I have since tried frsbees, all sizes of balls but to n avail. She simply has zero interest in them:( I actually thought that maybe Corgis dun like to play fetch but hearing all the lovely ball fetching stories here...I know it is just Buta:rolleyes:
I wish I can make her fetch or something hahaha

Okay.. this is going to sound odd, but it's a chew I discovered a long time ago when I had (MUCH) larger dogs. When a pair of blue jeans is no longer of use to you... cut the legs off as high as you can... tie each leg in a knot and let it rip. Some dogs don't care for them, but others love them for tossing, fetching, tugging, or shredding... and it doesn't cost you a dime to try! Bonus.. because it is jeans... it's a durable material (and harder to "unseam" as mine like to do with other toys).

Linda - if you do get the clear treat ball, let me know how it works out. I need to know if it's soft enough to not scratch my floor. :) And Jackie had the "vet" pull-a-part toy. We named him Dr. P*nis, because when you pull him apart - that's exactly what his body looks like. Kinda freaky the first time!
Don't feel bad Eri - Jackie's not much of a fetcher either. She will do it a few times, but then she gets annoyed and, instead of bringing the toy back, she takes it somewhere to play with it. I imagine her thinking Why should I bring it back to her if she's just going to throw it away again? What is the point? Clearly, she's not one of those dogs that enjoys the process of fetch, at least not for an extended period of time. A few tosses, sure. Anything more, not so interested.
Right now, aside from her treat-dispensing toys, Jackie is favoring her "tuffie ring" http://www.edogtoy.com/retail/index.php?cPath=27_106 ,
and the eggs from her "egg babies" fish (the fish has gone on to a better place:o ) http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=11911&Ntt=egg%20babies&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&pc=1&N=0&Nty=1
And her Dr. Noys lamb (what's left of it anyway . . . she decided that since she couldn't OPEN the velcro seam, she would just chew the whole darn thing off! So I took out the insides, put in a couple of squeakers, and sewed him back up as a shell of his former self) http://www.activek9.com/ko-02040.html
Lately, Jackie likes to lurk around while I am changing out of my work clothes. Then she sneaks in, steals a sock, and carries it around with her for the rest of the night. She doesn't chew it or hurt it in any way, so I let her keep it until bedtime. Then it goes into the laundry. :p

Favorite toys:
1) Whatever the other one has in his/her mouth is the greatest thing going
2) Nubby squeaky ball: I bought it at a local pet store, it's made of rubber/plastic, is about 4 inches in diameter, has nubs on it, squeaks (although someone has bit a hole in it somewhere so the squeak is muffled....yeah!!!!)
3) The rubber frog
4) Those rope toys
5) Holy Roller ball
6) Dylan's rubber "stick"
7) A rubber fish
8) Anything by Nylabone
9) this little jay bird squeaky toy I've had since Tuck was a baby
10) Carcass of former stuffed toys
**as a rule, soft toys don't come in the house! I refuse to pick up white stuffing anymore

Toby's favorite toy is his Mr Squirrel. It was the first toy he got to pick out as a puppy and he even took it bed with him that night. He also loves the plush hide a squirrel that comes with three small squirrels that you stuff into a plush tree stump and he gets to pull them out. He figures that one out in about five minutes, but he still loves to play with it. He also loves to play with tennis balls and his fleece tug toy.

Laurie,
Dillon LOVES that hide a squirrel too,but mostly when i hide the squirrels under my legs and the has to "dig" them out, then i make all three squeak at the same time and then they " run" in different directions ...he can be entertained by that for hours ( if I am willing to continue to play the game). I cant leave him completely unattended with the game or he tries to rip apart the little squirrels...
the egg babies was a big hit too, but mostly because the eggs were fun to chase around and fight over... i still have two eggs left- the other two, well they were ripped apart by Dillon the toy killer! LOL

Zeke and Zia will both play with any toy. They love them all! Zia doesn't like to fetch anything! You can throw something and she'll just run to it, look at it, and turn around and run back to you. Her favorite thing to do is to get a pecan, toss it in the air, and chase it.

Here is the afforementioned blue jean leg tug toy so you can see what I mean. This was taken just after a tug session between the boys, as you can probably tell by the slobber all over the end. These things really do last forever!

That really is a good idea. I have a few tug type toys that i bought for the boys, the one that makes Dillon WILD is what i only use in class with him... it is a real sheep skin tug toy with a handle on one end... it must be the sheepy smell or texture or soemthing because he LOVES it..
here is a photo of it ( incidently , at the place i bought it)
http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=865&ParentCat=74&string=tug%20toys
it is not the most sturdy toy in the world ( he can de-fur it a bit) but i only use it as a reward in school so i have had it for a year now and it is still in excellent shape...
but for daily tugging, old jeans sounds like a good idea, i just dont use anything that reminds them of something of mine ( like my old clothes or shoes as i am afraid they might get a taste for it... and go after my good jeans or shoes... but that is just me... still love the idea )

Ya know... when I first made this toy I thought something like that might be an issue, but in all the years I have used this, and with all the different dogs, I have never had a problem with them going after my regular clothes, and believe me... I am the worlds WORST laundry person... so they get plenty of opportunities LOL!

my guys are toy killers. around the house I have old bones, old rubber balls, a kong biscuit ball, a few latex squeaky toys and one of those baby balls that are clear plastic with little balls inside that make a swishing noise whne it rolls. That is Wicca's all time favorite. Other than that there are no "house" toys. If I had high value toys out and about I would have a fight for sure.
For training I hae sling balls- a foot long soft nylon handle attached to a ball- these don't last long but is a great reward, and fleece tugs
http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=341&ParentCat=52
and of course a few plush Dr.Noys toys stuffed with food- for mr.jack who is still learning to tug and play with toys. I have never really had to teach toy drive before, but it is going well...

LINDA:
Just had to respond to your photos, Miss Gambler does that ALL the time. If it's stuffable, it gets stuffed under something, then she lies there and whines and whines. You give it back to her, and guess what? It immediately gets stuffed under again, and the whines begin all over. So cute, but it soooooo annoys me. As for answering the quesion of this thread, what is their favorite toy, well, that would be whatever I tell them not to touch. :NAH:

I love the photos of Cody and his babble ball! how cute. The first one , he has such a cute look on his face. Dillon used to stuff his bone under the couch and try to get it out but never did damage eventually he would give up but i would see him trying to stuff his whole muzzle under the couch and i would feel bad, get up and get it for him just so he would end up getting it stuck under the couch 5 minutes later...silly dog.

At our house, the only really toy-driven dog is Teller. His favorite toy is any sock in the laundry basket or any pine cone he finds in the yard. He gets the "toy" in his mouth and gives that "I've got the toy...come get me!" look to the Teva and Snicket and even me...then he runs like a demon away from us. He's learning that when I go near him, it's ok to switch from the "toy" to a cookie - and what Corgi doesn't want a cookie!
Teva likes to play with a great toy that has a squeaker in it but no stuffing, so she can scratch at it all she wants and won't destroy it. Teva only "plays" in the morning when she is waiting for me to get up to feed her.
Snicket loves chewing on empty water bottles that have been de-lidded and de-ringed (no choking hazard then). But his favorite "toys" are Teva and Teller. Snicket loves a roaring game of chase better than any toy any day.
In fact, that's where we discovered Teller is really a Corgesian Ridgeback in disguise. He raises his hackles all the way from neck to nubby tip - it's the funniest thing! I've been trying to get a picture, but the Corgesian Ridgeback is as elusive as the Loch Ness monster, I swear! I'll try to get a pic, though...you'll all laugh when you see it!

If Gizmo doesn't have a toy around to play with, he starts to pout. "NO:":
His first very favorite toy is his soft squeaky hotdog. It was the first soft squeaky that I found he would not tear apart within days. No little parts to latch onto, to tear off. The problem with this toy is he played with it so much, it got slobbered up really quick, so I ended up buying him several hotdog squeakies, just so I could find a dry one.
As he got out of that puppy chewing age, he matured to a few different toys. One of the newest toys is a squirrel made by Ty, it has held up good to his abuse. It still squeaks, hasn't lost any stuffing yet.
Then for whatever reason, when Gizmo gets a small ball to play with, he purposely shoves it under furniture, what is that all about. Then he crys until somebody gets it out for him. :ARG:
In any case, whatever toy he has, he will play fetch and bring it back to you. If you ignore him, he'll flip the toy in your lap or face, just to get your attention. He has now learned to flip anything on que.
Needless to say, the pets stores love us when we show up.

Memories, thank you.
Pepper loved playing on the deck with a full size basketball. This will bring any calm dog into a growling, attacking phase. It is fun to watch their frustration on not being able to grab that ball. Pepper was afraid of the talking ball.
She liked to take the lid off - plastic milk jug, soda bottle. We would rinse it out and put the lid on real tight and she would have it off in no time. It was SO cute to see her running through the house with a big milkjug, carrying it by the handle when we teased saying we were going to get it.
Rope - one end 2 knots, the other 1 knot and she would never be satisfied with the end she got.
Pushing the ball like her nose was a pool table stick. I have more boxes shoved under furniture to block the balls because she would sit and bark until we got the ball out. See 1st paragraph, the same for the basketball.
Bubbles - Pepper went insane when my son blew bubbles. Pepper felt it was her job to pop all those bubbles. I had to teach my son to blow the bubbles lower because Pepper would jump up and contort her back in her efforts.
I miss her when I think about these wonderful times. Eager to make new memories with our new puppy.

Thanks for reminding me Merrie - Jackie LOVES empty soda bottles! I put the lid on very tight and stand it up on the floor . . . she quivers with anticipation, waiting for the "GET IT!" command, and then she launches into a flying tackle, and chases it all around the house. She loves that game!
She also loves to chase and be chased. She will get her sock and come find me. Then she waves the sock around in the air, trying to get me to chase her. If I don't, she gets closer and closer, and the sock waving gets more frantic . . . until I finally give in and chase her around. She did the same thing when we met Tucker, Lulu, Dillon & Gus. She wanted to play chase with them so badly, she would jump around and bark at them, trying to get them to chase her. She's a nut. :CUTE:
ETA: I wish she would play with bubbles! I even bought her some of those "doggie bubbles" that are safe for them to eat . . . but she is terrified of bubbles. If I even get out the container, she goes downstairs and hides in the bathroom for at least 10-15 minutes before cautiously venturing up the stairs to see if the scary bubbles are still around.

Milo's new favorite toy is kitty Mieko. Mieko squeaks more than meows and he runs when Milo chases him. They play and play together until they get tired and then they curl up & snooze together. Milo brings Mieko toys and trys to get him to play tug but that doesn't work, so he comes to me as a back up.
He loves his flying saucer that scews open so I can smear peanut butter in it, he will fuss over that for a good hour. He also likes empty liter bottles of soda. They roll and crinkle and he loves that!
He hates any toy that plays music or says something. He has a fish that makes bubble sounds and he hates that. He has figured out how to play with it without activating the sound. If he does set it off, he will drop it and walk away and not touch it.

Delilahs favorite toy is a ball - any ball! I bought her one of those cheap large balls at the grocery store yesterday afternoon ($.49). It lasted long enough for me to get the groceries put away and watch her play for a moment. She runs it all over the backyard and threw it in the pool, chased it around and around inside the pool, then back out into the grass where she jumped on it (trying to pin it in one spot?) and POP! The ball split! Cody's favorite toys are balls also. I have bought him those cheap grocery store balls and then he pushed it up against a tree biting at it and before you know it, it pops. I can just see Delilahs face now. I have had better luck with a durable soccer ball for him; has bite marks all over it, but still has not popped. Have you tried the Push and Play Jolly ball(4th one down on the link) It was recommended by Snowden and Wallaces owners. It is a hard ball and basically indestructable. I have this also. Maybe Delilah would like the first one for her pool(the floating one with the rope)
