Digger was a special gift to me from God. He sent him to me at a very low point in my life and he brought me so much comfort and joy. He gave me a special kind of love that we can only get from our furbabies. Unconditional Love. I took care of him and loved him and he took care of me and loved me for almost 15 years and then God took him to Heaven to be with him. There will always be a special place in my heart for this little corgi mix boy and I will hold his memory close to me and one day I will see Digger in Heaven.

Thanks for sharing that; I know it took you a long time to be able to do this. He was an adorable looking dog .

Bonnie, Digger was a beautiful boy- and was greatly loved! I know how much you miss him. The bond we have with our furbabies can never be broken, love lasts eternally and one day you will be together again.

I've often wondered which would be the worse...to have these brown eyed furballs around for only a year or two or to be so fortunate as you were, Bonnie, to have Digger for fifteen years. I suppose it wouldn't matter as those strong bonding feeling we get seem to be instantaneous. That's the way it was with Katie. The first time I saw her it was love immediately. They're all frapping together now and my heart's desire is that we'll see them once more.

To quote Martin Luther King, "I had a dream" and lil Dig was sitting on Jesus lap on the right hand of God and I have had peace since that time. He looked so happy. My prayers were answered and I know he is in Heaven.

Sorry about Digger - but at least he had a long, happy life...and he will be with you again.

I believe that too, Bonnie. Some may not believe in such things but, I submit that there is this great probability that we may not be the only "creatures" in Heaven. I choose to believe we will see all our loved ones again.

Bonnie ~ Thanks for posting the picture of Digger. I know that was hard for you to do. It is so amazing how we become so attached to our babies. It is so hard when we lose them.

Bonnie - "Digger was a special gift to me from God. He sent him to me at a very low point in my life and he brought me so much comfort and joy"

Isn't it reassuring that in our times of greatest need we are given hope... what a wonderful blessing Digger was for you and even now you can draw comfort from his memory...

(((hugs)))

I've often wondered which would be the worse...to have these brown eyed furballs around for only a year or two or to be so fortunate as you were, Bonnie, to have Digger for fifteen years. For me it would be worse to only have for a year or two. By having Pepper for fifteen years, I saw what old age did to her, and know that she is happy now on the bridge. I guess rationally I can say she lived a good life and I was able to let her go. Emotionally, the number of years doesn't make a difference. The pain of a loss is something that rises and lowers with situations, memories and time.

When we returned from vacation to an empty house, the pain arose. Oh Bonnie, what you shared with Digger is a treasure to your soul. How these special animals touch us so much, forever. Thank you for sharing. Now where is the kleenix, I should have bought stock in that company.
