Taffy has one ear that has dropped and I am wondering if I should add a little plain yogurt to her food so I wondered what you all thought. She is nine weeks old now and not sure if she is teething so I wondered what you all thought. I don't want her to get loose stool or diarrhea. Also need to know how much if any I should give her.

It seems to me there have been a few discussions on this the past few months Bonnie - we have been helping to raise a lot of pups this past year. I believe that the yoghurt is good and I've heard the vitamin C and calcium supplements are used as well. As to how much, I'll leave that to folks like Peggy, Debbie or the new pup owners who went through this.

Yes she's doing some teething and adding yogurt won't hurt. When ears are in the up/down/up/down mode around here; puppies get 500 mg Vitamin C (also good for pasterns), yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. We'll also give a vitamin, Sure Grow or Pet Tabs. I don't supplement with calcium as a stand alone supplement - afraid to. There are too many potential health risks that can arise just throwing calcium into the diet. That's one I will only use under vet supervision and recommendation.

a tablespoon of yogurt never softened Chester's stool, but the habit, makes him demand it when he sees my son get it! Now pumpkin was the softener.
Besides taping Chester's ears for a week, he got the yogurt, some C and I massaged the ears. It is so funny, when he is agitated, I'll massage his ears and he becomes mello.
Yes, an ear massage is what we give Link to settle down. Works every time.
As for yogurt - They no longer get it every day but each morning when I open the container for my breakfast they come running to beg.

I third the ear massage, I can put Miss Gambler asleep with a good ear massge. Now if it only worked for Mojo!

We had to re-tape Mac's ears because they drooped again! When they were taped (for about four days) we gave him a little yogurt with each meal. I'd like to say it helped!
