Wonderful Wonderful photos!!! (And the person in the bckground of one of them appears to be wearing a very cute Pembroke sweattshirt. Is that you by any chance? I would love to see a better photo of the shirt if I'm right and it's a Corgi.)

Two of the clubs that have hosted so far have had rubber mats on the floor. Last week it was rubber mats over a concrete floor.

In 2 weeks our club hosts and we will run on dirt... cold and frozen dirt!

Lulu is in an Intermediate Agility class. We are celebrating the holidays by participating in a CPE trial at the end of December. it is 3 days, we are making a vacation out of it, and I have entered Lulu in 2 runs each day. CPE has no teeter and weaves in their Level One.

I have no delusions that Lulu's runs will be anything but a comedy, we are not ready. But she has been such a good girl tagging along to Tuck's trials and behaving, I thought I'd get her out on the course, let her run a few obstacles, if she goes on a zoomie, I'll just have her finish a few then off the course.

Should make for good entertainment. She is totally different from Tuck. She barks, jumps at me, but she actually stays with me. Tuck has always been a sucker for the photograpgher.

Saturday morning he had to go visit Dottie and her camera. I assured him Dottie knew which was his good side, she didn't need his help!

Dress warm is my advice to you!!!! Is the benching on dirt too? Or in a different spot?

Yay for Lulu! I am sure she will have fun and that's what counts. And it will be a good experience for her.

Part of the fun of running multiple dogs is how they are different! You'll get used to her though....

The pics were great- I looked through quite a few of them- the bulldog is super cute!

I think that's the same floor we have at our training club. Certainly the same color!

I can't wait to hear all about Lulu's Adventures in Agility!!!!

I am trying to find the link for the sweatshirt I have. It has a Corgi dressed as Napolean. I got it a few years ago and can't remember the site name or find the link. It's a catchy name, has all kinds of dog breeds, and they have a blurb about the design and the dog. It was pretty funny......

The December trial is about 1 1/2 hour drive in good weather from home. So instead of commuting, we are doiing the Residence Inn thing for a few days. They did great staying in the hotel at the National Specialty Show so we are vacationing, eatiing take out, and sleeping in a bit!

That bulldog is a moose! He is huge, he's tall, and just plain big. He is a handful, I get a kick out of his handler trying to keep him on course.

It's on Cafepress but the design is from Laughing Dog Press (looks like they are out of business).

Here are some of their designs:

Nice pictures.

I've never done agility on anything but dirt or grass. Nothing really indoors here- indoors means under cover but open ends on the barn. Up in Washington there was a closed barn, but still dirt.

But back in our obedience days we did have obedience on those mats.

Bobbie reminds me of something I meant to ask.

For those of you who have run on mats indoors in cold weather, have you had any trouble with static electricity?

I heard a story about a dog that got shocks from touching the weave poles in a run. Saturday one woman was wiping her dog down w/ a fabric softner sheet.

Any thoughts?

Great pics Susan! Tuck sure looks like he know what he is doing! We look forward to hearing about Lulu in her upcoming trial. We have sadly been cutting back on Ace's agility. We still practice with our limited equipment in our backyard, but we got really tired of driving making a 4+ hour drive round trip just to do practice runs. So be thankful you are in an area that has agility so close, even if you have to put up with the cold and frozen dirt!

The indoor mats that we run on are heavy rubber and we have had no problems like that at all. At the indoor centre in Calgary the biggest concern was slipping- people would use coke on the dogs feet to help...never heard of the static problems though...maybe because our indoor matted areas are heated??? It our cold dirt floor arenas that are freezing- last night was the coldest yet and now surprise surprise I feel a cold coming on... :o(

I've never heard of a static problem with our mats either. But our facility is also heated / air conditioned.
