This is not a happy story, well, maybe it is cause it turned out well. It just goes to show though, that some ppl don't research a breed before they adopt. Polly and her brother were turned into a local shelter in Oklahoma for -get this- chasing the sheep! When I was told this, I couldn't believe my ears!!! DUHHHH, they're herding dogs!!!!!!!! It turned out well though, Polly's brother got adopted out to a nice family in Dallas and Polly's here with us, traveling the English countryside! :CUTE:

Wow... how in the world can you get a corgi and NOT know they will chase the sheep.. DUH!
One of my childhood dogs I got because she was returned for playing in her water dish... she was about 3 months old. My brother fell in love with her instantly and they spent many happy days playing in the creek together before she passed.

that's great that she has a happy ending. it is very amazing that people don't research before they buy a dog..but at least Polly has a good ending!

Good grief! I guess that's the problem of being such cute puppies, people buy on impulse. It's hard to believe though. Thank heavens they have now found great homes! (how could someone who has sheep be so dumb though?)

I've had one Pem foster that came to us rescue program for that reason - wouldn't leave the sheep alone. There were a few others, but that was a part of it.

I think I missed the part about the fact that the dog was turned in in Oklahoma and ended up in England. That is a big jump. How did you end up with the dog?

She is in a military family like I am... therefore, orders can take us (and our dogs) to all parts of the world. That's how they ended up in England. With any luck we will be heading to either Germany or Italy in the next few years... that's what we are trying for anyhow, and our dogs will most definitely go with us when we go.
