Cardi Puppies born April 13th. Glad my family is not superstitious! 3 boys 1 girl, who goes where is determined later. The mom is very dark brindle and the dad sable but he doesn't count because they all look like mom only black and white at this stage. 3 have a large white blaze on the face, one doesn't and that one doesn't have the white tip on the tail, sob. The largest boy was an inch wider and longer than the others!

1 week update, snouts are developing and the largest boy is now just the longest. They all have those puppy tummies.

Best news, the breeder approved June 23/24 as our puppy pickup date. 10 weeks old. We chose that date because my 11 yr old son would be out of school and the weekend was before the July 4th traffic nightmare. We will be traveling on Interstate 10 and it is 5 hours one way, an easy drive after Montana to here. But a whole lot hotter in June!

My mom called up all upset that her mobile home park won't allow visiting dogs anymore. I calmed her down by saying, well you will be a co-owner! She has an invalid husband that just doesn't allow her to have the dog full time. She is so relieved as she was worried she wouldn't see us much with that rule.

The wait is going okay until I saw Heather's 4 week old. My son said, and we'll have another 6 weeks after that cute stage! It has been a very positive process for us. The breeder is a good friend of an outstanding breeder who bred our last dog's dad. We have done everything by email!

Congrats, Merrie! Let the waiting begin...we can entertain each other with puppy pictures to pass the time. Fun story (hint hint hint, Debbie)....we are keeping our fingers crossed for a pickup that same weekend, as it's the first weekend I'll be out of school. Here's hoping our wait will be over at the same time!

A couple of my students caught the photos of Mac today, since I was showing them another teacher I work closely with...BIG thumbs-up all around. They want to know when he's coming to school/if I need a dog walker. (HA!)

AGREED! Our old lab, Mitzie, passed away at the end of 2005 at age 13...she was definitely STILL in her cute stage.

I am so glad to hear everything is working out for you both. Waiting is half the battle. I waited for Dale for months. It will be so much fun when they come home though.

Merrie, I am so happy for you, I know the wait is so hard. I waited so long for DIllon i thought my heart was going to explode...and the first time i saw him it was love at first sight.. i wasnt sure he would be mine when i met him at 6wks but oh my gosh i knew i had to have him. Gus, i wanted him when i heard about him, and when i went to meet him, there was no question that he had to come home with us immediately. We loved him from day one too!
I can't wait to see pictures- oh the puppy fever!

Got the okay to post The first picture is first week (day 1). The other two are beginning of second week. Note how they all look black and white like the mom does.

Oops I just added the last photo showing the two sizes born on the same day. What a big boy and little one too.

This is the beginning of the 3rd weekend, this past weekend. The boy in the 2nd photo has red brindle color really coming in that the photo doesn't show as well. Guess the Dad's red sable is showing up behind the mom's brindle! The last photo is the adorable girl with the white tip ears.

Glad I'm not choosing as each week I like a different one!

Beautiful puppies. I always wonder how the breeder matches up the puppy with their new parents for a perfect match. It would be interesting to find out what all they look for. I have always picked out my own puppies.
