This morning we had a surprise visit from a very large and amiable GSD whom we have never seen before, luckily he had Council Tags so I was able to obtain the owners phone number and leave a message.

Abby (full of joy and sparkling eyes) has never had such intense exercise - non-stop mad frapping round the back yard with GSD in hot pursuit. She would then fox him by tearing into the house through her doggie door, and while he was still bending down hopefully peering through it, she would erupt out of the door at the other end of the patio and flash past him before he had time to turn to turn. Then it was on again until one of them would pause for a drink.

They tried frapping through the house, but he was so big and they were going so fast, he could not apply the brakes and turn quickly enough in the confined space, to match her figures of eight.

Fortunately the horrified owner soon responded and came to pick him up.

Dog had jumped a seven foot fence while owner was out for half an hour. (A Completely Enclosed Run is now on the Agenda).
Dog is usually not friendly towards dogs he does not know - owner quite amazed. (It's that Corgi Charm).
Dog should have been very tired as he had just finished a long Night Shift in his working role as a Guard Dog !!!! +HUH+

Very Silly Me did not think of the camera until the owner was walking up the front path, but this pic will give a little insight as to just how hilarious the frapping session was to watch.

There is now a Very Sound Asleep Corgi here, and as we all know - A Tired Corgi is a Good Corgi.

Glad that you were able to find the owner, i bet they were so happy that you found him. The frapping session sounds like it was fun to watch, too bad no video, that would have been fun. Maybe the GSD liked Abby becuase he thought she was a GSD puppy... haha, seriously though, glad that they got along well and had so much fun. An enclosed run sounds like what this fence scaling dog will need!

What good fun - Abby charmed the beast into a good FRAP! Poor fellow was a working dog - probably really enjoyed the fun with Abby!!

He probably thought she was a very short GSD!! I had a man ask us last night if my two were crosses between a GSD and a Dachsand! :NAH:

That would be a tricky mating! :SWOON:

I can tell by the GSD's tongue that they were having a blast! :BIGGRIN"

If I had a buck for every time I've been asked that question! Argh!

I sure wish Millie would get along with my mom's GSD like that.

I have been asked if my two are miniature GSD's, yorkies(?) and shelties. One poor man told me he also had a Corgi, but it was a Pem - I told him these two were Pems, so then he decided maybe he had a Cardigan - I asked if his dog had a tail and he said no. When I said it sounded like he had a Pem he was totally confused. It turned out he didn't know Pems could be tri-color, so he figured my boys must be Cardigans. It's really funny sometimes what people think these beautiful creatures are!!

I know I have mentioned this before, but it always makes me :ROLLEYES
A few people have asked me if Jackie is a "miniature collie" . . . . umm, first of all, do you mean a SHELTIE? And, secondly, NO. :TWITCHY:

Actually it wouldn't, it's quite possible. Even naturally. Big dog could lie down for smaller dog, or big dog can breed a smaller dog.

And there's always artifical insemination. Not that I recommend breeding mixed breed dogs.... but possible.

Ha ha, Kath - I bet Abby and the GSD were a hoot to watch! :BIGGRIN" 2 long, fluffy tails flapping in the wind as they go!

Nobody has ever said they thought mine looked like GSD - I have been asked if they are yorkies or shelties (I get shelties a lot). One man asked if Andy was a Corgi crossed with a beagle (because of her tricolor - he didn't know Corgis could be anything but red/white).
