I love the look on her face - she almost looks like she is wondering why all that work on her part is not making her go farther.

Linda, I was thinking the same thing, she looks a little confused by the fact she is paddling hard and not going anywhere! She looks a little scared of the whole process, something in her face...she certainly is not thrilled with this. Dillon has that bugg eyed face when he is in the water, only he has his nose higher and makes a snuffling sound as IF he has water in his nose, however he doesnt, he is just scared and upset. One day i hope he will enjoy the water. Cindy looks adorable... the video is just too cute!

I am sure she doesn't really enjoy it but she is getting used to it. If it helps her with losing weight and getting fit and helping the athritis it will be worth it.

Awww Bless her heart...... Love her little vest.

I was thinking the same thing, she was swimming her little heart out, wondering why she was getting anywhere.......

Hope she does well with it, great exercise for her.

How sweet Cindy is! What a great clip.

She has the same look that Monty had when we put her in the spa last summer. Not too sure about it all.

Dylan on the other hand loved being in the spa, first with the life vest, before his ACL surgery, then later without it. Mind you, he was swimming to reach the Charlee Bears that I had in my hand as I stood on he opposite side of the spa.

Did Cindy swim quickly when you let her go?

She does when you let her go as she swims like mad to get to the ramp to get out of the pool.

Monty did that too, swam fast, got up on the step and wanted to climb out of the spa.

Be careful what you wish for.

Now I can't keep Tucker out of water. I was working from home yesterday and at lunchtime, called my friend with the high energy Border Collie for a playdate. We went to their yard and they have a beautiful pond with fountain. had not been cleaned out yet. Tucker was taking laps around it!

Actually, Lulu was in the water too.

Really looking forward to the lake warming up to see if she will turn out to be a swimmer.

Cindy does look cute in her little jacket - but she does look a little confused! She will get used to it, probably; it will be good for her.

Rhys, Andy and I went to the dog park today. Rhys spent most of the time in the pond: I would throw the tennis ball and he would go in, swim out and get it, and bring it up on dry land for me. I think he would have stayed out there for hours! Andy just kind of wandered around - she has no interest in the pond. :ER:

Just to let you know- 10 lessons later and Cindy has ' graduated' from her swimming sessions. She is now a very fit girl according to the owner of the hydrotherapy pool.

My nephew from Pittsburgh was here for a few days last weekend and his girlfriend is into fitness and she was playing with Cindy and exclaimed ' I cannot believe the muscles on Cindy'.

The main difference I can see in Cindy is her confidence- she will walk along the main road now and will both go up and downstairs without any help.

That's wonderful that she is so much more fit. I found the same differences in Rupe with his weight loss, he's happier and trots along quite well now. No union breaks as I used to call them - for him to catch his breath and rest.

WOW! That's great! I wish I had a pool to lose weight in! LOL It is great for the muscles and burning off fat! I want one of those little lap pools with the current. Don't take up much space and you get all the therapy you need.

Don't take up much space and you get all the therapy you need.If there is a YMCA or YWCA nearby, their fees to use the pool are reasonable. My mom took their aquatic physical therapy class and it was incredible. She was worn out because she can do exercises in a pool that she can't do out of water (bad back). Senior centers are starting to have pools too.

Sigh no pool here either.

No pools here in the Tupelo area that I could use (no private club memberships). Maybe when I get to Utah, I will be able to find a YMCA or something equivalent to swim year round.

There's one YMCA, but it's in SLC. I thought for sure there would be more than ONE in all of UT!!!

Thank you! I appreciate the thought! Maybe I can take Cheryl and Justin while I am there. Swimming can make you feel better when you are in the last trimester! Helps eliminate some of the weight for awhile.

PS---Cheryl will be here in about 3 hrs. She can use my machine to catch up with posts here....

As a follow up to Cindy's fitness regime, we met Sooty's oldest girlfriend today, a golden retriever called Lady who we haven't seen since Cindy started her swimming. Lady's owner remarked straight away on seeing Cindy that she was looking so much slimmer and fitter- more to come off I know but at least she is looking slimmer and fitter now.
