Every once in a while I see someone with a non-service dog in a store (other than a pet store). What stores known for being dog friendly?

I don't know of any that aren't pet stores . . . but I'm going to be watching to see what others come up with!

Tiffany's in NYC! Not that I've shopped there! I have in the Tiffany's here in Toronto - without the dogs though!!

We have a very upscale mall in downtown Toronto that is very proudly dog friendly - caters to a lot of the stars who come to TO for movies etc. They have tie-up areas at each store, provide water and treats and if you have a lot of shopping to do offer doggy sitting while you wear out your platinum credit cards!

Dos are welcome at Home Depots, our local Garden center, the Cat & Dog store in La Conner WA & the St James Pub in London (very common in pubs there) many stores in Venice provided water dishes and tie ups too. In fact, we couldn't get a seat for coffee as there was a dog occupying the last chair of the eatery in Plaza San Marco. Same wee dog was taking up a lounger on the deck of the cruiseship too:ER:

There is a Baskin Robins Icecream store in our plaza down the street that has a sign that says "No Live Animals Allowed". How the heck would you interpret that

I'm not so sure I would be in the mood for ice cream if there were people bringing in dead animals!

 Jess, you kill me!!!!!!

The flagship Orvis store in Manchester VT has a sign that dogs are welcome!!!!! They usually have biscuits at their registers. And of course, they fall all over Tucker. I haven't taken Lulu yet.

We have a Panera Bread that has an outdoor cafe. I run in, get my lunch, then bring the dogs from the car and tie them to the heavy metal table. It's great fun.

I took Lulu when she was very tiny and acutally put a big quilt over the chair and sat her in the chair next to me. Great place to people watch and let the dogs meet and greet.

"no live animals" oh my gosh , i am with jess on this one, i would rather not have someone bring in a dead animal, i much prefer the live ones myself ! LOL

as for pet friendly places around here, well, i dont know of many that arent pet related... ( like pet shops, petco, etc)

Barbara, you mentioned a dog on a cruise...i have to ask, can you take dogs on a cruise (*to the carribbean)? I have said i wont ever get to go on a cruise because of the fact i have dogs and i wont kennel them...

Heather: "I don't think people are allowed in that ice cream shop!"
Colin: "Well, not unless they have a big load of dead animals with them."

Colin is unable to comment...he just pulled up our photos of Mac again and a slew of incomprehensible syllables are issuing from his mouth....

Gross, ya'll. :NAH: Funny, but gross. :TWITCHY:

I know that dogs can go in most Lowe's and Tractor Supply Stores. I have had Rhys in Tractor Supply before - they sell dog food and toys and stuff and, to Rhys's interest, BUNNIES!! (seasonally)
