COMMENT

Allergen specific IgE and IgG concentrations are reported as a
class score between 0 and 5. The higher the class score the
more significant and generally the more problematic the food.

IgE scores indicate that it is likely that the dog has a true
food hypersensitivity to these foodstuffs.

IgG scores indicate that these foodstuffs may be implicated in
food intolerance.

Any positive reactions indicates that the allergen is
problematic and should be removed from the diet.
A switch to an alternative diet free from the foodstuffs listed
with elevated scores is indicated. All diets, treats or table
scraps containing the offending food may potentially provoke
symptoms.

Finally decided to get her food allergen test and the above are the results. The vets (also changed vets) had me try Prescription Science Diet Z/D Ultra which I think has helped a bit but I'm still giving it a bit more time (we switched last week) to see if it will work completely. To be honest, I think it may be also environmental allergies, but I'll wait a bit longer to find that out.

I've been so stressed lately with my pregnancy, my blood pressure has started to creep up and I'm having to go in to L&D now quite often to have non-stress tests and my hubby is still not back from the desert so it's been tough focusing on Polly or anything else lately.

Please cross your fingers for us that everything turns out well, we could really use some good vibes over here.

Thanks.

So the only food that may be an issue is wheat? But that she may have some intolerance to beef and lamb. That's how I'm reading it.

So by staying on a grain free food that is chicken, or fish based, she should be fine then. It does take some time for changes in the body when addinf supplements or changing foods. I would think at least a month. You should also make sure she is not getting any dog treats or people food with those ingredients to give her the best shot at seeing how it will work. It will also give you a better idea if it is environmental.

I hope you feel better soon and that your husband will be back in the very near future.

Lots of vibes from us!!

For environmental allergies I swear that using local honey with pollen does wonders. We use it ourselves, dogs can have it too, just put a smear on a biscuit.

Sending vibes for your away Hubby and pregnancy, be sure to take good care of yourself!

Take care of Polly but be sure to take care of YOU!!!!!

I switched my two to Grain free... they are eating something called Taste of the Wild. Mine are eating a bison and venison (with trace of chicken). That might be a bit much for Polly but I believe Taste of the Wild also has a fowl fromula (chicken and duck, etc).

Amanda feeds Oriijen grain free and I think they make a chicken based grain free.

I hope everything works out for you and Polly. It looks like her allergens aren't too widespread which is good, and now that you know what the problem foods are it should help a lot!

Thank you for doing the long post. I've never seen an allergy test result and appreciate the info. I feed Chester the Fosters & Smith Chicken and rice because that is the protein and grain in it. I don't like combinations in the beginning because it makes it harder to figure out an allergy.

The cow milk is a bummer. Yogurt might be okay but cheese is tougher to allow.

If you homemake anything that calls for wheat, I had great success with 1/2 oat flour and 1/2 rice flour for Chester.

Hope you can take a big breath and relax a little to take care of yourself.
