We may be out of the woods!!!
My vet called last night with the results from the biopsy and she was told by the lab that it was actually a piece of Cammies super-enlarged spleen that she took out, not her liver.
She explained to me her physical positioning when she did the surgery and how she didnt initially make such a large incision, she only kept getting it bigger until she could see where the bleeding was coming from, once she found it, she olny took about an inch of the organ out to stop the bleeding. Basically, it looked as if it was her liver because it had become so enlarged it was blocking, as in in front of, the actual liver. My vet was just so concerned with stopping the bleeding from whereever it was coming from and not losing Cammie.
Based on the results of the test, which i dont remember the exact terms used, but this could have all been a bad reaction to the anesthsia used. Giving her fluids both at my vet and at the Emergency center flushed the bloodstream and spleen of all the anesthetic and she might be just fine!!
We will still wait on the Von Willdebrands results to be sure...but we are very relieved at the moment....my vet will be calling us again today to see how she is and im sure will be happy to hear her poop is more normal than yesterday, as she was having some yucky ones and we might have been concerned but it could have just been what they fed her at the E.R. she also gave us her cell number for any issues over the weekend and we will see her again early next week to check staples etc.
But Cammie has really perkd up..she wants to play with Colby now and i think its gonna be tough to keep her quiet after a few more days...spunky!!
Thanks everyone for your good wishes!! We will be sure to keep you updated!!
