I first saw the mention that this was going to be on TV tonight earlier in the week so I stayed up to catch it. It was pretty short and sweet, and really didn't cover that much information in detail, but it was kinda nice to see the option thrown out there for people who may not have known it was an option before to consider. I do wish they had touched a bit more on the positives of a natural diet... but on the other hand I guess it was good that they emphasised how precise the diet has to be so the ordinary joe didn't just decide he could throw a package of raw hamburger on the floor and let their dogs go. Anyhow... here is a link to the story.. and they have a couple of links on their site to other informational sites about feeding a natural diet to your pets.

Thanks for posting that link. It is good that they pointed out the importance of balancing the diet, although the supplementation part isn't really rocket science (it does take some careful studying, though.)

About the natural diets; just today I read a message on a cat list that I belong to, disagreeing with the raw food notion, at least for felines. The message stated that surface enzymes on the raw meat destroyed nutrients in the cat, unless the meat was freshly slaughtered. And since that's impossible with purchased meats, the list did not promote raw feeding. Wonder how "fresh" the commercial/freeze-dried raw diets are?
