Class went well last night. We didn't send her to day care during the day and her attention was much Better. She did very well with the dog walk at 2 different heights, no problems with the teter or the tunnel. She balked once at the chute, but it was the first time seeing it and was fine after that.
She tends to stop at the end of each thing to search for dropped treats (not a corgi, is she?) so she recommended I bring EXTRA special treats for class, to keep her driving towards me afterwards. I may get some deli chicken to take (we're vegetarians, so we don't have meat on hand.)
I must say our instructor is doing very well at helping me figure out adaptations for someone who has never taught a scooter user. I said last night I need a turbo charger scooter to even begin to keep up with my lightening fast little doodle bug!
Aine is having a blast and I am too. I'm surprised how tired I am after class when I'm not running but riding!

It sounds like you are both doing well and enjoying yourselves. I'm sure that the concentration and emotion of tearing around on the scooter is quite tiring.
A great dog treat is soft cat treats - they are nice and stinky and a packet will last a little longer than deli chicken.
We'll be hearing about young Aine earning agility titles in no time! +UROCK+

I'll bet you two have a great time! You know, Jax has learned agility and even if we don't ever compete, we still have fun together. So way to go - you're out there, doing it!

Good for you Kassie, working so hard with her on agility. It would have been cute to see the bark at the chute. At least corgis are so food motivated, all it takes is a more tempting treat to keep concentration. I wonder what they do with other dogs?
Glad your scooter is working out with the only problem being speed. Agility is usually on a fairly smooth surface, right? In other words no pot holes for twisted paws or ankles or stuck scooters.
Aine was tired too after class?
Sounds like a fun class. Aine has a mind like Link - in rally class while we did the course he was also vacuuming the floor. The TINIEST crumb would lure his attention from me. At the end I learned that I need chunks of meat to keep him watching me instead. When I treated him with it he was allowed a small bite of it. Another plus was that I didn't need to dig in the treat bag so often.

Actually it was #5 tonight. Things went well. I had a very hard time as the people had not come to mow and the grass was very long which made it hard to see the uneven spots that I need to watch on the scooter. Aine Did the a frame at the AKC height tonight without any problems. At first she didn't want to sit on the table, but was doing sit and down there pretty quickly. No problems with the shute, only 2 dogs in the class need it held open now. The thing she seems to like the least is the tire. She still needs convincing at that one. I don't know if that is unusual or not. I am going to try to get someone to go with me to take some pictures next week. That is the last week of this class. I think we will sign up for the next one which is sequencing. There is a bearded in class which is doing very well. I don't think I've ever seen one do agility before. She is very smart and fast! Next weeks class is the day before her birthday. Maybe we'll take treats for her classmates!

Budget cuts on gardeners? Or maybe they are on vacation. Wow that class went fast.

That is great that you are going to continue!
When I first got Sam and started training he could not figure the tire out- it was the weirdest thing. I did lots and lots of targeting and clickering before he finally got it. Funny Guy. Aine will get it I am sure!
There are Bearded Collies in my area who are amazing. Great Agility dogs- the hair looks pretty neat when they weave!

Well, miss Ainehas had a big week. Not only her birthday, but the agility instructor said she's ready to move into the beginning sequencing class! I think 3 of the 8 dogs in the class are. Aine, the bearded and the lab. So that will be interesting! We'll see if I am as ready as she is! Class will be Wednesdays now. Wish is luck. Actually, she was having her work off lead some this week which seems better for her. Gotta work on turns!

My dogs tend to want to go through the corner of the tire.
An easy source of treats is frozen meatballs. They stay pretty non-squishy and are easily broken into small pieces, and the dogs love them.
