Aine has been both sneezing and reverse sneezing for several days. I am assuming it is alergies of some sort. We have had so much rain this summer our yard (woods that it is in the first place) looks like a tropical rainforrest! She acts fine otherwise. Never any problems with eating or playing in this girl. How do you decide when something like this needs go go to the vet!

Gee I have the nose section marked in my "Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook"...

Reverse sneezing. It is believed to be due to a temporary spasm of the throat muscles. An accumulation of mucus may be involved. If the dog is perfectly normal before and after these attacks, no ill effects and no treatment is necessary.

Sneezing - One of the first signs of nasal irritation. I know from Pepper with the foxtail up the nose, she sneezed continually. continuing, if the dog sneezes off and on for a few hours, and in between shows no other signs of illness, it is likely that the irritation is not very serious -- perhaps dust or pollen in the nose. Then the book goes on if there are other symptoms with the sneezing like discharge.

A dog shows allergies usually through itching. But I know Pepper would have an eye that would be irritated by a particular weed and get gunk. So I had to pull those weeds and keep her out of them. Oh my you just made me realize I found a patch of rag weed I didn't get to pull yet. It is bad for me and some dogs, but a pretty yellow flower.

It sounds like if the sneezing is continual, or there are other symptoms, you would want opinion of a Vet.
