My poor little man was at work today, being his happy and busy little self with all the people. He was taking a quick break to play when he suddenly sat down. He somehow had managed to tear the nail of one toe nearly off and it was bleeding every where. He was a trooper when I grabbed him and carried him into the office and three of us cleaned him up and bandaged the paw.
Fortunately, our vet is only about a minute away from work and they got him in and checked him over. He is on antibiotics and has a new bandage, which will come off on Wednesday when he goes back in to have it checked again. They loved the snoopy band aids we used to hold the gauze in place.
I was very proud of him for being so well behaved when people were touching his foot. He is not a big fan of anyone touching his feet, but he sat quietly in my lap while we cleaned it up at work, and again when the vet bandaged it. He went back to work and was spoiled for the rest of the day.

Awww, I hope poor little Toby's toe feels better. That has got to really hurt and it sounds like he was a trooper. I'm sure he'll get some extra treats and tummy rubbings to help him heal fast.

Ouch! Poor baby. Hopefully he doesn't get an infection or anything. But how wonderful that he was so good!

Poor Toby! And good boy for being so sweet while everyone messed with your sore foot, that's not easy!!
I used to have a lab that was constantly pulling her toenail off of her dewclaws. That's why I love it when I see pups who have had the dewclaws done. It was always so painful for her I wish she hadn't had them at all.

Poor Toby. My Tucker had a ripped toenail too and I think we are probably more worried about it than they are!
He too got a round of abtibiotics!

Toby is doing better today. Still sore, so no running around for him. He has been quiet and mellow today. He's even playing up the sympathy. When outside for a stroll around the yard, he will sit when done and refuse to go any farther, until I pick him up and carry him inside. Then he hops off to wherever his toy of choice was left and sits down to chew.
He goes in tomorrow morning for a bandage change and a vet check to see if the nail will have to be removed, or if it will be okay. Thank you all for the well wishes. Toby is enjoying being spoiled and pampered. (well, more than normal anyway.)

He loves going to work! Toby is very popular with the staff and customers. He is working off leash with me and goes from building to building when I'm bringing books around. He stops to greet people and I've met quite a few people who have a corgi, or know someone who does. When he is behind the desk, he keeps watch over his new friend. Caleb is the 7 month old son of my co worker. They are always supervised, so no worries there. Toby will check on him when Caleb is in his playpen in the backroom, and we hear Caleb giggle when he sees Toby.
