Tucker is looking for a new handler! His Mom is a total dope!!!!
We had an agility trial today (CPE) and had 4 runs - Standard, Wild Card, Full House, and Jackpot.
I have avoided Jackpot because at the end, you have to direct the dog thru 3 obstacles from a distance. Tucker, being the velcro dog, needs to be by my side.
We ran the course, we racked up lots of points, then I sent him tru the last 3 obstacles. AND HE DID IT!!! Only one tiny problem - I forgot to take his collar off him and the judge saw it and booted us! Ughhhhhhhh!
We were outside at a horse farm and if there had been a wall, I would have banged my head against it. I am totally inconsolable! He was brilliant and I blew it.
All in all, he got 2 "Q"'s and 2 "NQ''s. He NQ'd in Full House when his dope handler forgot to have him do a 3rd jump.
So Tuck will be interviewing new handlers if anyone is interested. He is a smart, fast, and sweet agility partner with a great sense of humor.
The only redeeming point of the day was when I got to give a tummy rub to Checkers, a 10 week old tri fluffy! OMG, what a precious little guy. And of course, cameras are still on the fritz.
Tucker is wondering exactly what good I am at this point?

Oh Susan! Don't beat yourself up!! Now you know that Tucker has it in him - you got that out of the way and you know he can do it - hooray!!! That's the best thing - next time no pressure- and I bet you won't forget what happened with his collar - so next time you will both get your "Q's"!!
+REDAWARD+ YAY Tucker!!!!

Don't feel bad, Susan. At least Tucker did it! :TWITCHY:
We all do things like that, from time to time.

Don't beat yourself up over this, Tucker did great and there will be other trials to go to... it is all a learning experience... frustrating for you but as long as Tucker was having fun that is what counts, he doesn't know that you forgot to take off his collar, he just knows he had fun jumping and running, so you did great, give him bit hugs and snuggles, and next time you will do great ( i know you wont forget that collar again!) This is how i feel when Dillon and I do rally, i am the one screwing up more than DIllon...if i could only remember my right from my left LOL!!!

Don't beat yourself up Susan, things happen and mistakes are made and you move on to the next time; and I bet all will go well. You are spending a lot of time making sure they do something they enjoy. I bet Tucker looked adorable and was great and I am sure you are very proud of him.

Oh no! I would feel the same way Susan. But you & Tuck had fun, right? And even if he NQ'ed . . . it's still good practice. I'm sure Tuck had a great time, and he got to practice in a trial environment. And you both learned things that will come in handy next time! I'm sure he still loves you! +WUBCLUB+

I set up the large crate (both dogs can fit comfortable in it) in the field with 3 xpens around it.
After our disgrace, I went and sat in the pen with the dogs.
Did we have fun? Lulu was mad at me for leaving her alone while Tucker ran, she wouldn't even come near me when I was sittiing on a blanket in the pen with them. her buddy Foomin (10 month Cardi) came to visit and she wouldn't even play with Foomin.
Tucker curled up on my lap for a nap, so at least he still loved me.
It was a very weird day!
And I am sure all 3 of us in that pen looked ridiculous!

Too bad the camera is on the fritz! There's a picture I would like to see!
Has Lulu forgiven you yet?

Lulu got over it the moment we pulled into McDonalds.
My MD told me more salad (yup... got to drop some weight!) so I ordered a salad and the dogs each got a burger w/o onions. They let me have their pickles.....
Now that I think about it.... I was the one getting the short end of the stick on saturday..... time out in the pen, no burger.... what's wrong with this picture?

You sitting in an Xpen, me getting sprayed by a training collar - what in heck is going on here? Who's training who??? It does sound like an odd day for you - oh, well, learn from it and move on and get ready to enjoy the next time - I'm sure it will be fun - the pressure is off, I'm sure you'll get lots of Q's!!!
