I was going to hold these back for some Friday when the theme was "dirty corgis", but I couldn't resist!!! These are the aforementioned pictures from our anniversary picnic . . . where Jackie showed us that her favorite Disney character is Puumba!

I am still uploading the rest of the pics to flickr, so if you want more, check on Thursday. Enjoy!

I can't believe Princess Jackie getting down and dirty like a little mud wrestling girl on Stripes! I can see her taking down John Candy

Jackie and her dirty fluffy coat remind me of the perennial little girl who goes tromping around in her best fancy dress and shoes :)

Okay, now I see the need for a bath. It would require a whole container of wet ones to get the mud off this girl!

Oh my,

That is one TomBoy - how on earth did you get her home. Did you wrap her in a blanket before putting her in your vehicle:LAUGH:

ROFL that is the best set of photos! I am giggling away over here - the second photo of her, i swear she is smiling! LOL! She is FILTHY! Like Linda, i was wondering how in the world you got her home without having the entire interior of the car covered with mud?

Yes, my princess has a tomboy side - she likes to keep you guessing! :BIGLAUGH:

I left her muddy while the three of us went on a hike. Then, when we got back to continue our picnic by the stream, I put her on leash, picked her up, and dunked her in the stream. Then kept her on leash on the grass until she dried . . . THEN put her in the car! She was not happy about the stream dunking. She hates to get wet! And she was none too happy when I brought her home and plunked her in the tub (after a long brush-out & thorough tick check)!!!! She smelled like a swamp!

Life is never dull with my little fluffball!:CUTE:

We will be in big trouble when Rupert and Jackie meet - he will be in LOVE - a warthog after his own heart!!!

Oh, Jackie...oh, dear Jackie. What a mess. "NO:": But what can you do? You can't deny that cute little face her mud bath!

I wonder what possesses them to want to waller in the mud like that? And, to beat all, she looks very euphoric about the ordeal!! Maybe you can nickname her Pig Pen after the Peanuts character, Jessica.:CUTE:

I think there's a couple of reasons they like to roll in mud. It goes back to their roots as wolves - mud disguises your scent and makes it harder for prey to detect you - so it's a sense of invulnerability. I think it's also to get cool -that seems to be why Rupert does it most of the time - he doesn't roll but lays flat out in the frog-dog position to cool down all the under-bits - as it were

That stands to reason. I guess in Jackie's case, there's not much left to do but to turn on the hose pipe (Southern for garden hose) and rinse the "sweetness" off. I think the more smelly, whatever they waller in, the better they like it.

 I love the pictures! I see that same thing here after a good rain. Gizmo is going in to the groomer on Saturday to get his fluffy butt and belly trimmed. She sure is cute!

Thanks everyone! Sometimes I think she does it just to see what kind of funny faces & noises I will make! :ARG:

But I got her back when we got home . . . BATH TIME!!!! And the mud did smell very swampy! :TWITCHY:

She was having such a good time - how could I deny her? And she needed a bath anyway!
