The class that Danny and are are taking is step by step the requirements for the CKC Canine Good Neighbour test. A mock up of which we will be doing this week, in our last class.
And I think that each of the 12 parts to the evaluation is a common sense guide for molding a corgis good public behavior.

Dylan has also passed the AKC CGC test as well as the CKC CGN, so I know that it is pretty much exactly the same.

THANK YOU for sharing! Little Miss Luna Mae could use some of this. I'm looking for a general obedience class after the first of the year. She's only completed puppy kindergarten.

I threaten to take CGC away from my two.....
It should be more like a drivers license - they have to re-certify every 2 years. That might keep me more disciplined!

Our mixed breed (chow/shepherd/golden/stbernard) who passed away last year received a 95 on his good citizen test....out of 200. He was such a sweet boy, really just a few cookies short of a full dozen. He was well behaved but just didn't do well at testing. He was a good example of why there should be special ed obedience schools.

Luna would tell with all the steps except the one where she would have to be near another leashed dog. She just doesn't like other dogs unless they are a Corgi or a small dog (cat size).

Rhys was about 7 months old when we took a CGC training class. He didn't pass his test. :NAH: He could do all the HARD parts - but he was too exuberant to pass the easy things (sit for petting? NO - I have to jump on you!!).

Yes, that might be Danny Boy's downfall too. "Ok, if I can't jump up, then can I lick? No? Then can I sniff your pants? No? Then what's the point of a Meet and Greet?":TWITCHY:

Actually, that might be a point in Luna's favour. In the evaluation the dogs are to ignore each other. Danny always wants to make friends and play.

Good idea Susan!
Dylan had his CGN for just over two years before he took a renewed evaluation and and passed his CGC.
