I had a funny thing happen today. I was in the park with Shippo, doing a lap around the baseball fields, and this cop car came driving up the sidewalk behind us. I stepped to the side with Shippo to let him pass, and he stopped next to me, rolled down the window, and said...

"Wow, is that a corgi?!"

I was like >O___O< but quickly collected myself and said "Yes it is, he's purebred, but just a fluffy."

He said, "What's a fluffy?"

I said, "Just a longhaired corgi, they can be born in regular litters - blahblahblah insert more fluffy info here."

He asked me if I showed him and I told him no, that he is pet quality, so I had him neutered. He complimented Shippo, we said our goodbyes, and he continued his drive up the sidewalk and out of the park.

I just thought that was unusual, so I had to share lmao... >^^;<

My husband has come home MANY times from work and tells me stories of how he chased down Corgis and their owners, there was one vehicle that was damaged that was able to skate a ticket becasue of this, so flaunt those Corgis!!!

Cheetah,

First I would have been a bit nervous to see a cop pulling up along side me, but I am impressed he knew what a Corgi was. I have only run into one person on my walks that was familiar with Corgis and that the Queen has them. Everyone else seems to have not heard of a Corgi before.

One person asked me if he was one of those "designer dogs":TWITCHY:

I got that on the road alot too! Very few people knew she was a corgi. Even had one guy ask me if she was a sheltie/basset cross!

I disabused him of that idea real quick! There is no way she looks like a basset hound! LOL

Sounds like you were jogging with Shippo and a fluffy floats so beautifully. Nice to have a cop keeping an eye on you when you are out!

I've been worried about getting stopped in my car by a cop with the dogs in the car. If we are going long distance or on the highway, they are in the backend, usually in their big crate.

But running around, they co-pilot with me. I'm afraid Tucker would expect the cop to give him a burger if I rolled the window down!

True story of Scooter(our red & White Pem Pal over a lake or two...): Diane and Harry cart around grand kids frequently so they kept a car seat in the back seat of their car. Scooter loves the car seat. He basically took it over as his own. So Harry put the car seat in the front seat of his truck and is driving Scooter around. A NY State Trooper sees the car seat in the front, pulls Harry over, and when he sees Scooter in the car seat, doubles over laughing. Needless to say, Harry loves to tell the story!

What a cute story Cheetah! Shippo turns heads everywhere he goes! :CUTE:

We also meet very few people who know what a corgi is, nevermind a fluffy corgi.

Last week at the pet supplies shop I saw a car that looked like it was being driven by a huge mound of white fluff. It parked, the door opened and out popped 2 HUGE fluffy white dogs (don't know what kind) followed by a tiny senior owner. It was way too cute and funny, but way too dangerous too.:TWITCHY:

I can see that person being pulled over, for very good reason.

That's right...no typical police excuses needed if you have Shippo with you.:CUTE:

I think that fluffy coat is a show stopper! Shippo deserves that second look! I wish I had a dollar for all the questions I get about Gizmo. Then you have to do that "blahblahblah fluffy" explaination, and sometimes I think people actually don't believe you when you tell them they are purebreds. We haven't been stopped by any cops yet though.
