Colin and I were at an engagement party for two friends of ours and got to hang out with the Corgi-owning couple we met last year at the same friends' barbecue! We haven't seen them since last summer, so it was good to catch up....and of course, to tell them that their dog introduced us to this fantastic breed that we've since fallen in love with. They were BEYOND excited that we decided to get a Corgi because of them, and are definitely looking forward to setting up some puppy play dates once Mac is settled. We spent so much time chatting about dogs that they took a quick run back to their house (about a block away from where the party was held) and brought their Corgi back with them! His name is Fox, and he's almost two years old. It was good to see him again, for sure.

I didn't get to snap any pictures of him, AND I of course totally forgot to mention this place to Pam (Fox's mommy), but in two weeks I'll be seeing them again for the annual Barbecue where we met Fox last year. I'll certainly take care of those two oversights then ;)

Mostly, Fox was happy to be at the party because it meant he got to eat a little CAKE.

Heather, I am glad you had the chance to have a little corgi lovin!

When I was waiting all that time for Dillon to be born, I had photos, bookmarked websites, and my coworkers ALL could point out a corgi from a mile away as I had probably driven them completely nuts while i was waiting. One afternoon while at work, still doing the long countdown ( momma still hadn't had her puppies yet) one of my coworker ran to me totally excited and babbling about a lady walking a corgi outside, who she promptly ran over and stopped! she asked this kind and patient lady if she could wait a moment so she could run and get me, as she knew i just must see the corgi! ! LOL... I went outside and got to meet this nice elderly lady and her really sweet elderly corgi. I had a nice visit with them and told them about my waiting story , and she really was kind and remebered waiting for hers! I was thankful that my coworker did this becuase getting this opportunity to see the unexpected corgi sighting at that time meant so much to me... The anticipation and waiting were killing me! so to you folks waiting for your puppies to come home ( heather, ms. grace and merrie, I totally undertand and I send you calming vibes and some hugs. The closer i got to the day, the more i thought i would burst with excitement...

Thanks Em. All in good time, but yes, I am totally excited and can't wait!! (well, I can. Time is fleeting, but I'll explain below)

I know I get so excited for things, it's all I talk about... then when I DO get my fun exciting thing, it's all worth while. But I am careful not to lose the time in waiting. Every time should be exciting or anticipated. Life should be full of zeal and wonder all the time. Hence my lists, my countdowns, my kiddo & hubby. They are WONDERFUL about helping me make every day an adventure. (for better or for worse! :TWITCHY: )

It's not the destination, its the journey. Sure, the journey is rough at times, but you have to find the good things, have to LOOK and SEEK happiness. Wallow in the good times and grieve a bit for the bad, but dont' let either be all-consuming. Savor, experience and enjoy it all.

Yes, it's a Corgi-riffic day! It finally stopped raining! My dogs were wet for over 24 hours straight!

We had a playdate with my puppy sitter and some dogs she had in her care today. One is a 4 month old rescue aussie mix. She's almost an apricot color, very short legs. My puppy sitter thinks she may have some Corgi in her but I don't really see it. Her front legs look a bit too long to me.

The puppy loved Tucker. After he got done grousing at her, they were fast friends. We were playing on a tennis court, fenced in and it was sunny. On one side there were weeds/bush hanging over the edge of the court. It was wet, damp & cool. OF course, Tucker found the cool spot so he and Lulu would runs and play then run to the shade. Well the puppy velcro'd herself to Tucker so under the bush you could see 3 little faces and 3 sets of ears!

What a hoot. I managed to get the grass cut, the weeds cut back, and I suspect it may actually rain again. Oh well, at leat the weekend wasn't a total washout!

Thanks! Only four weeks or so left to go... and this time next weekend we'll be MEETING Mac, Debbie, and Robin at a dog show in Hampton, Virginia...so the wait will be either broken up again...or just become even more unbearable. :TWITCHY:
