Anyone here feeding avoderm? I'm looking to switch dog foods and it's within my price range, ingredients seem pretty good (it's no canidae, but few things are...)
I'm specifically looking at the senior formula, but I'm open for all comments, thoughts, experiences, et cetera. :)

Looking hindsight, I won't do senior food again. My Pepper's coat lost it's sheen when I did, but "I thought it was the right thing to do". Now I would just reduce the regular adult food and add the glucosamine. Pepper's kidneys failed so the senior food did squat to avoid that problem.
I'm using Fosters & Smith as they seem to have a sale every time I order the 2 bags of 30lbs so that makes the shipping cost okay. I considered Costco but I don't live close enough to one.

I'm still looking for a good food that works for Janine. Costco doesn't. Old Canidae did, and maybe new will but didn't when she had giardia- I'm going to try again when she is cleared of that, as it worked so well for the other dogs, too.
I haven't tried Avoderm recently, did years ago with the Labs. I used to feed Trader Joes but stopped when I found Canidae so probably should try that again.

I fed Avoderm for a short period to both Trevor and the cats; this was during the pet food scandal, when I was trying to figure out what to feed.
I ultimately settled on several brands from the NaturaPet line, but I don't recall any problems with the Avoderm. I just didn't feed it long enough to say one way or the other.

So far the avoderm has been going great. No problems whatsoever! Same consistency and amount of poo. She seems to like it a lot, and her coat is still doing great (though she gets the missing link+, so I don't expect it would suffer all that much).
No funny smells or anything from the food or the dog, so it all seems to be going pretty good.
Btw, "Trevor and the cats" should be a swing band! ;)
