Wow - the pups have grown so much!! Incredible. Even though you never planned on this happening in your life and it was a complete shock, you must be enjoying this now - how can you not!

This whole process has been a joy! And I'm so excited to think that somewhere there are six families who are going to get gorgeous, fabulous, amazing corgi puppies all because of our Big Surprise!

They look beautiful and huge - they have sure grown and Sadie looks like she is being a great mom. Do you know what some of them are weighing now?

They are soooo cute, and look so healthy. I love the idea of using the children's pool.

I'm pretty proud of Miss Sadie (and myself, actually!) considering that neither of us actually voted for this whole procedure. You may recall from my initial post that I stated that I am certain that my wonderful, sweet, adorable Sadie was ravaged by the resident breeding male...certainly not her doing!! :NAH:
As for homes, I don't have any lined up at this point. I'm not really equipped to handle all of this, but I do have one or two friends who may well succumb to puppy lust - we'll see.
But, the agreement that I have with the highly-shocked breeder is that she will take the puppies at the appropriate time and place them for me. She has access to her website, people who have contacted her in the past, etc. Selfishly, I'd love to place one or two myself so that I can follow their development but that may not work out.
As much as it will kill me, I'm not planning to keep any. We have Hank, our German shorthair, and Sadie - and that's an ample supply of canine members of our clan. We've had three dogs in the past, and for us, three is really too many. But it is honestly going to kill me! All the more reason that I'm hoping that at least one of the friends who has expressed interest will decide on corgi ownership!
Let me add that my favorite puppy changes from minute to minute, but I keep coming back to Zsa Zsa for her gorgeous markings and Gertie - the runt. She is so tiny compared to the others, but so feisty - she'll just charge up to the big girls and take them on with gusto! Gabby is hysterical, Gus is a big galoot (is that how you spell that??) and Glory and Gwenyth are just sweet and adorable.
HOW am I ever going to let them go?????
Let me know if you all have any advice on this approach too - do you think that will work out ok for the puppies?

I don't know how you are going to let them go - I'm not sure I could! Even we will miss them when they go to their new homes and the supply of pictures dries up. How sad for all of us. +SAD+
I think you have a right to be a little selfish. You have been raising and caring for them since (practically) conception, so you should be able to have some say in where they go. After all . . . you and Sadie are their co-mamas.
ETA: And you both have every right to be proud as well! You are doing a great job! +WUBCLUB+

I hate to say it, but had we known of this about 9 weeks ago (and if you weren't in Texas, maybe), we probably could have ended up on your puppy list! We had a whole crazy drama of our own trying to FIND the right puppy...and had no idea for a bit where he or she would come from. We're happy Mac found us....but I DO kind of wish we could take a second puppy this summer!!

The amazing part of this whole deal is that nine weeks ago not even WE knew about it!! Nine weeks ago Sadie had lived with us for about 10 days and was well on her way to being the most loving, perfect dog I'd ever had. I was just trying to follow my vet's suggestion and keep her trim and slim!
But...now she is the most loving, perfect mama dog I've ever had! +WUBCLUB+

Yikes! I thought you had at least known from near the beginning...I cannot even IMAGINE the surprise now!
Either way, check out the pictures...Mac says his Mommy should just keep going south after North Carolina and get him a sister to read stories with once he comes home ;)

I think Mac should have a little sister - PC (for pretty corgi-girl)
maybe if you park Colin in front of C2BC and open up Sadie's baby pics ... who knows what might happen????
