October 16th 2005 my boy passed his Canadian Good Neighbour test.
Our club was hosting a CGN test that day and I had been debating about doing it or not. We'd been so busy starting a new freestyle routine, demos etc.
Finally I figured what the heck. It's only 20 bucks, and one hour drive each way up and down the valley in the pouring rain, and gas is cheap.
So off we went that morning, and I was so proud of my little guy! He did great!
I had to play and get him excited and then calm him. I used my "Say" comamand, and I swear he stood still and locked onto my eyes in less than a second. The evaluator said "Oh that was easy!"
And then the last one, when we approach the doorway and gate, and I must go through first. I put him in a heel, got to about 3 ft, had him sit/stay. Then after I walked through, I let him come through, then again told him sit/stay. "Oh my she said, very good!"
I fixed him a very special dinner that night.:)
