Not a very good video- Merlin is a Velcro dog and it was hard to get far enough away from him and the light isn't very good. But here he is.

I LOVE it. Merlin took advantage of the screen section on the tunnel to keep an eye on you. So attentive. When it is blazing hot, dogs can still exercise with a course like that in A/C or a cool basement.

Yes, and it IS blazing hot today. Merlin was always like that- he hated tunnels because he couldn't see me. And he wasn't much faster in his prime! (Not really true... he had some runs at about this speed but he also had several Q's in Level 4 CPE before he started to slow down.)

Looking great Merlin!!!
And he looks like he is doing pretty well in his cart Bobbie.

He's fine in his cart when he is motivated to move. He just refuses to move in the house, most of the time. He lies there and barks, and if I put him in the cart, he stands there and barks. But he'll do anything for food.

I'm eager to see if he acts differently in Washington. Right now he is in his cart barking at the front door (he does like walks but it is 6:37 am and I am not taking him out for a walk now.) He won't go out back on his own but will walk back in if I carry him out there.
Poor Merlin! He was always capable of being stubborn and demanding, and this disability really brings it out in him. Maybe I should say Poor Me, though, as he is making me insane.

I hope that the sea air puts some motivating wind up his trousers and gets him zipping along the beach.:BIGGRIN"

Do you think Merlin is more 'barkie' do to his physical frustration? I think Monty was, if it was even possible for my girl to be more barkie.+WUBCLUB+

Overall, maybe, but what's new is more whining and barking at night. He was always willing to stand somewhere and bark for an hour or two if he wasn't getting what he wanted. The difference is that now I can't totally ignore him- I have to at least go check and see if he is stuck or needs help before I ignore him. So that may be reinforcing it and making it worse.
Last night he was pretty good, but at 5 started whining. I checked, saw nothing wrong, ignored him for half an hour, then put him in his cart, he barked for five minutes and then stopped, but 15 minutes later hadn't moved. If it hadn't been too hot he'd have been sleeping in the car!

Our next thing is to make a set of hoops so they can do Hoopers, one of the newer NADAC games (even though NADAC won't let them do it.) Candy tried it and had fun, and hoops are a lot easier to transport around than a full course.

Yay, Merlin! What a trooper! and a sweetie! Too bad we live far away, he and Kyle could get to know each other and check out each other's "wheels". I'm actually trying to get Kyle into a wheelchair "soccer league" in our area. They use a giant exercise ball and the kids get to push the "soccer ball" around for "the special olympics", and of course, they all get a medal for their great courage!
So, you go Mr. Merlin!
