Dylan got his third leg and qualified for his CD.

Plus, he also got Highest in Class, in Novice A at the trial!

The judge was a great guy, and a well know trainer I was told. When we were getting the picture done he was hands on with Dylan, he wanted to be touching him, he really likes him.

He said to me, You have a very good dog there, a very good dog, but you have a lot of catching up to do!

I said, you mean to bring myself up to be as good as he is. And he said yes, exactly!

My boy is such a good little worker, and I was so proud of him!

Thanks, I was caught off guard looking at the ceiling, but my Dyl Bob & the Judge looked good so it was worth the $30.00, besides everytime I look at that it gives me a big smile.

Barbara!

Congratulations to you and Dylan. What a wonderful accomplishemnt, you deserve to celebrate.+WUBCLUB+

Now... why did the judge have to make such a comment? I'm sure we all have some catching up to do with our dogs but geez.... let you enjoy the moment!

To get to your CD you and Dylan have probably worked hard and you as much as him. We are all proud of you! Maybe he said it "tongue in cheek" but I bet you are doing great!

Congrats to you and Dylan. he looks great in the photo and i know you must be so proud of him. I know it takes hard work by both of you to earn titles..Me and my Dillon have worked on training in hopes that maybe someday we might try for a CD however I am not very brave and I am really nervous about looking dumb infront of other people or not being able to control Dillon enough to do it! he could use a more time to mature as well.

sadly for me, when we look dumb, it is ME who is screwing up and not Dillon! if i could only figure out which direction the course is going, and which side is left, and where the next sign is , maybe i would be more comfortable. I am the same girl who gets lost in a paper bag... sigh,

I have a lot of respect for those who are working and earning titles with their dogs as it really does take a great deal of time and energy and training to get them to that point, again, congrats barbara and Dylan.

Em:

I remember taking Tucker to his first Agility trial. I am amazed how many folks enter dogs that are totally out of control. Sometimes they are just so overwhelmed by the environment.

The only way to get them used to it is to get them out there.

And I know what you mean about making mistakes when the dog is doing great. But live and learn! You do it as a team.

Oh... and it helps to have a forgiving dog!

Em - my teacher recommends walking the course at least 3 times during the walk-through. That's what she does when she competes, and (in my vast experience of 1 trial & 2 fun matches  ) I find it helps me too. It really helps you get familiar with the course . . . and curbs the worry.
(Note: curbs, not eliminates - we will always be worriers - there's no hope for us!)

Susan, I didn't mind what the Judge said about me at all, I'm fixable. He ment it as a compliment to Dylan. And even a so so trainer like myself that has a very good dog as a team partener can come out of the ring looking pretty good.

Emilie, Dylan had Puppy K, Herding Instinct testing, a couple of agility classes and then no formal training again until he was about 8 years old. There is lots of time for training & maturing.

I confess that if you saw our score sheet, the missing marks were "handler error."

But I went into it for the fun that Dylan and I have working together, that was the big goal. Getting Dylan's title was for me, an extra.:)

And we are still hoping to get a chance at Rally Jessica.
