I don't know why or for what reason, but when I saw this guy's picture - David just came to mind. There have been several corgis and corgi mixes that have been posted up his way, but this one - something was different about it. "Soldier" looks to be possibly a red headed tri fluffy/whitely or mismark Pembroke.

He's in Johnson City, TN. I do have a better photo of him. If you'd like to see it, just e-mail me at <pdcampbell@mac.com> and I'll send it along.

Deb - that page is no longer there - must be the dog was taken off.

Oh, he looks cute.

David, he sort of reminds me of your "katie" with his ears being down. Sounds like a soldier may need a colonel to rescue him - sorry, I am not trying to convince you of anything.

He is a sweet looking fella for sure. I wonder if Debbie knows anything about him or his background. I think I'll email her and see. No Corgi/Corgi mix that pretty should be homeless. Maybe the rescue in Johnson City knows why he's in that fix. I'll check into that also.

David,

Susie is going to try to go there tomorrow and check out what the little guy's story is. From the shelter write up he sounds like an owner turn-in. Susie says the Johnson City City shelter is good about temperaments and giving heads up when they are running out of time. She'll also get some more pictures. I'll send the one I do have to your work e-mail.

Like I said, there was just something about this guy.

Could Debbie be the Corgi-finding angel of this forum TWICE in as many months?

What a sweet looking boy :)

My thoughts exactly T-Deb - a soldier without a C.O. and a C.O. without a soldier - sounds like a match to me!!!

Aww, Soldier is really cute! Could be a match made in Heaven!

Thanks Debbie-That's the best place for now as my computer at home won't let me access the Internet. I'm working on that but for now, I can only open anything here or even "talk" with the world from work.

Soldier is a cutie. If things turn out in a strange way for us both, I'll have to put him through boot camp for a while and see what kind of "Soldier" he turns out to be.:CUTE:

Instead of the song we use to sing..."what makes the grass grow-blood, blood!", we'll be singing as we march, "what makes the belly grow, food, food!!:CUTE:

Another we use to sing while marching along went along these lines....

Ain't no use in going home, Jodie's got your girl and gone. Ain't no use in feeling blue, Jodie's got your sister too-sound off, one, two-sound off, three, four-cadence count, 1,2,3,4, 1,2....3,4!!

BTW-Jodie was the one who took care of things while you were away.:CUTE:

So David, what branch of the service were you in? I was Marine Corps, myself.

I was in Uncle Sam's Army, Comm Specialist. I'd hate to try and go through basic training again...at least the way it was then!! I'd never make it today.

Ah, bootcamp. Lots of memories about that place and none of them good!

I was Avionics on AH1 Cobra helicopters. Lots of front seat time. Now THAT was some fun! :BIGGRIN"

[Ah, bootcamp. Lots of memories about that place and none of them good!

Amen to that!! I got the flu in basic and thought for sure I'd be recycled so, I didn't go on sick call because of it. I'm just glad it's all a memory, albeit, not so sweet."NO:":

Hey what's happening with Soldier - Debbie - you had someone going to take a look at him - any updates on him or his situation???

glencorgi
05-24-2007, 08:32 PM
Well Susie did go by and take pictures which we sent to David. David did e-mail he had contacted the shelter. However, as of this afternoon Soldier's picture was gone.

David was having some problems with his home computer I believe, so that might be why he is out of touch with us.

Hopefully he did get adopted.

Thanks for letting us know - I don't think David has been on this morning from work either.

One way or the other, I hope that Soldier gets a wonderful home.

Last update. Susie called the shelter this morning - admittedly apprehensive about the news she might get; and Soldier was adopted yesterday.:BIGGRIN"

We'll just keep on alert for the right one for David.
