After getting thru 2 very tough weeks for Lulu I realized I really needed to get both dogs in for general check ups and vaccines so yesterday we trooped off to our Vet.

Lulu needed Kennel Cough and the bordatella/lepto/distemper etc booster. Tucker needed his 3 year rabies, kennel cough, and Bordatella et al booster. He got the first 2, we will drop by next month and get the bordatella/lepto/distemper booster.

Lulu had her SNAP test (lyme/erlichiosis/heartworm) at the hospital last month so they only had to draw blood from Tucker.

You would have thought he was having his leg amputated without antesthesia! What a cry baby he is. I was mortified.

One tech had to hold him, I had to feed him treats, and finally he let the other tech get a few drops of blood. You would have thought he was being killed.

What blows me away is he used to be so good with the Vet. I have no idea what happened.

Anyway, all tests came back negative so all is well. Teeth looked good, Both had gained weight but only Tucker needs to diet. He weighed in at 27 lbs. He's NEVER been that heavy. I have been thinking he was looking chubby so started kibble and green beans last week.

Lulu weighed 26 lbs. And I think she looks great, she had gained 2 lbs. Keeping weight on Lulu is tough. But I am going to try to maintain her at that weight, she looks great.

A week ago the dog walker found a scrape on Tucker's hind leg above the joint. Over the long weekend I had the big hard E collar on him so he wouldn't lick it and kept it clean + polysporin. More drama!!!!

Monday night I took off the E collar. By Wednesday he had licked it red again. He also had a goopy eye. I was concerned it wasn't a scrape but a hot spot tand both were allergy related. The Vet said it looked like it started with a scrape.

So we went home with eye drops, antibiotic spray, and Mr. Cry baby will be living with the donut on his head for awhile.

And as we all like to compare vet prices around the world... $310 for 2 check ups, 1 snap test, 2 kennel cough vaccines, 1 rabies vaccine, 1 bordatella/lepto/distemper ; antibiotic eye drops, and antibiotic spray.

In the last 30 days I have spent over $1,000 on the 2 dogs. It's time for good health!

Susan (staying home this weekend because she is broke!)
Tucker (poor me)
Lulu (ha ha, I only had to get 2 shots!!!!)

Oh Tucker - you are such a Mama's boy! +RPAC+ I know what it is like - Rupert is a big baby too! What is it with these boys??

Glad to know Lulu is doing well - never heard of have to "try" and keep weight on a Corgi - wish I had that problem with me!

I'd probably been able to buy a new car with what I've spent on the dogs since I got them - I try not to think about it!! Hang in there, good things are coming I'm sure!! :BIGGRIN"

Oh no! Tucker has to wear "The Cone of Shame"!

Glad there were no "serious" problems, and hoping that you have some vet-free months ahead of you.

Just got a call from the Vet regarding the fecal exam. Both dogs were free of parasites but one had been snacking on vermin poo that did have worms.

Three guesses who that was! Now that poor Tucker is getting green beans and kibble for breakfast, he immediatly runs out to compensate by scarfing bunny poo. Apparently, the bunnies have worms.

And I never knew but the bunny poo passes right thru and he won't get the worms from the bunnies.... Gross... but good to know!

Connor's a baby at the vet to. You should hear him when he's getting his nails clipped. One vet tech calls him the drama king. I mean three people to do one corgi's nails incredible, well at least we're down to three.

Well that's good to know, both mine love to feast on Rabbit Caviar. And Link has a similar routine, he gets done with breakfast, runs outside for desert, a la Millie's poo. Just can't break him of that nasty habit.

Oh, and put another mark down for a male being a baby at the vet. Yes, Link. Millie is tough as nails though - girl power!

Daisy went to the vet today. What an ordeal. She marks everywhere, which is embarrassing. She cowers and doesn't cooperate. She turns backwards and pops out of her collar. She took the vaccinations well, but only because treats were involved. She had lots of good girl praises from me and staff and no negative comments towards her. I had them take her out of the room to have her nails clipped. She's doing well with Pedi-Paw, but that is a maintenance-only tool. Her diagnosis? FAT. Big surprise. Rick treats her like a food garbage disposal. Next time, he goes to the vet for the lecture.

Very good to know, we have wild bunnies hopping into our yard every day.

Sending out lots of good corgi health vibes & less vet bills for you.

One big baby here too- but not Sooty- he's wonderful in the vets-So one boy who is brave

Cindy is the big baby-she too made such a fuss when they had to draw blood for her rabies test for her pet passport last year- one vet and the vet nurse and me holding her still and the other vet taking the blood.

Another momma's boy here with Murphey. A couple years ago we got bordatella nasal thing and it took a few techs to hold him down and give it to him. We normally don't get it for them but we had to since they were going to doggy day care for a day while on vacation.

To this day, we can't do anything with his nose. He's so traumatized. :TWITCHY:

Trixie winces a little with shots, but otherwise she's ok.
