Okay guys, I have permission from the breeder to share pics she's sent me of her puppies. Of course, you only have permission to view them here, these are not to be posted/saved/taken etc. You know how it works!!

She is going with a "Double Romantic" theme as the sires have romantic CH titles. My list of names seems appropriate and I sent it to her in hopes that she'll like some from my list!

See attached pictures of puppies. All the tri's are females, the R&W are males and the far left puppy is the other female. We are jonesing for a R&W male.

Also, I hit PetSmart today and they were having a HUGE sale! All toys etc. So I got... A HEDGIE!!! :D Actually, I got 2. One in each size as the puppy will probably want the smaller one at first, and can upgrade later. I also got a cool bone for teething, a few Kong toys and a funny "Easter Bunny" style BoBo squeak toy, 2 magazines (they had the Welsh Corgi special magazine and a LOT of copies if anyone would like me to grab and send them some) and I managed to snag a "Free New Puppy Kit", which is a bunch of advertising, handouts, flyer and one PetSmart tennis ball in Orange.

That's the update! Pictures attached. They are just so darned cute!!

YAAAAAAYYY!!!! SO happy for you. How long before you figure out which one is for sure yours?

Someone mentioned a Welsh Corgis magazine being sold, I think, at PetSmart.... from the editors of DogFancy. Is this same one? If so, I would LOVE a copy...haven't gotten to a local PetSmart to see if they have it :) If they're having this sale nationwide, I should probably drop in and see about that puppy kit myself!

Yes, that was it! I have a copy and will be happy to pick up a few more. Feel free to PM me where to send it to, I'll get it out Monday or Tuesday.

The puppy kit was FREE!! But it came with a tennis ball... meh, goofy stuff mostly, but fun cause it was FREE and made me feel special. ;) Good marketing on their part!

That's the same magazine I picked up about a month ago. It is a good one. I love those hedge hogs and started to get one last time I went to Pet Smart..you know, looking ahead a little. To tell the truth, I wanted it for myself!:D

Congratulations, MrsGrace and I hope you get that R&W male you want.

How exciting Mrs. Grace! The puppies sure are cute. It looks like you did a great job at Petsmart. Ace has the exact same bobo and it is one of his favorites. He also has a hedge hog that he enjoys watching his Mommy sew up after frapping fests.

Speaking of the "potato chip" phenomenon...Colin has officially decided that he likes Pems better than Cardis, but since *I* did all the puppy homework and decided on the latter, I was told at dinner tonight, "So, you're getting YOUR puppy this summer...how long until I can get MINE?"

We don't even HAVE the first Corgi yet and he's already craving the second!

Have to track that one down... is that on.. what's that main road? Baltimore Pike? It's one of the Pikes... I'm super-familiar with almost the whole Main Line, right from Wynnewood out until you hit Malvern and up to KoP, but take me South and I'm a goner.

Great Picture MrsGRace

Cody has two Bobos, that red kong, the hedgie of course and also that green plastic bone(I have not used it yet) - I am going to fill it up with water or low sodium broth and freeze it and let Cody have it while outside. It has little holes in it and as it thaws, then he gets to enjoy the flavor.

oh Mrs. Grace-
the puppies are so adorable! I know you must be dying of excitement. I dont have that welsh corgi magazine, they dont have that at our petsmart or petco - they have bulldogs , retrievers, and some others but corgis never get any play out here! grrr... oh well...the toys you got are a great start, they do love the hedgies! and bobo is a fun toy, but now that dillon is older and tougher on his toys , they dont last very long....

LaRosita, nothing wrong with getting your puppy first and then getting hubby his pem - two corgis is so much fun, i loved just having Dillon but adding Gus this past February has been the best thing we EVER did! We love having them both together and they do get along and i think they love the company. I dont find having two to be much more difficult than one...just more hair...more food, more poops... But i did wait until one was fairly well trained before adding a second - i have one friend who did get two puppies at the same time and managed to train them both very well... so hmmmm why one one cardi and one pem at the same time ?... :D

I am so excited for you all!

If you take 320 from the main line all of the way out, you will intersect with Route 1, which in some areas is the same Baltimore Pike. The one in Springfield in on Baltimore Pike. The Marple one is right off of the blue route interchange that is marked Lima/Springfield. Head toward springfield and it's the first shopping center in the left, almost immediately when you get off of the ramp...Happy Traveling!

AHH, now I know where those are :)

Incidentally, we just found a great pet supply store within walking distance of our apartment! I never realized it was there, but saw the sign out front yesterday while on the way to go to dinner. Any other Philly people been to Braxton's Pet Works in Stafford? http://www.braxtons.com/

I was VERY excited; it's a very friendly, family-owned place with all kinds of premium dog foods, treats, and supplies. They have Lupine collars and leashes! (Those are the ones with the lifetime "if it wears out/your dog chews through it, we'll send you a new one" guarantee, right?) Colin had to tear me away from buying the grunting Hedgie right then and there ;) At least three families were walking around with their pets...no Corgis, though!

Very nice litter. It'll be interesting to hear what color the one on the end turns out to be. :)

The Welsh Corgis magazine is a one time publication. Very good reference material in it.

Those puppies are absolutely precious! I just want to scoop them all up and take them home!!!!

ahhhh . . . hedgies . . . can't give those to Jackie anymore. She had her very first one for a few months and LOVED it. But then she figured out how to get the stuffing out . . . and every hedgie since then has been disemboweled in the exact same manner within 10 minutes of giving it to her. She has figured out their secret, and will not let them live. :p

I feel very blessed in that regard... I have an almost 2yr old, so baby proofing is pretty much done! With the exception of my daughter's toys.... :D I have gates to use through the house if I need to and I'll still get an XPen to tote around for the first few weeks when I need to shower etc and I can't leave him alone.

The only thing I'm worried about is I have hardwood throughout the top floor, and I don't want the puppy to have problems slipping and sliding.

We have hard wood on our main floor too, and Jackie doesn't slip, unless her paw hair gets too long (in between the toes). But then we just give her hairy tootsies (very ladylike, I tell her:p ) a little trim and she's good to go!

So, does she frap on the hardwood? And does it scratch it up too much?

We have a couple of area rugs, and the smaller one I am constantly straightening! She doesn't usually frap on the wood - she fraps around the coffee table (on a large area rug), or upstairs (where there is carpet). She's a little more reserved on the bare wood.

ADORABLE puppies! (I have a similar precious photo of ChloeLouise's litter!) It will be so much fun to see the photo of your little one(S!!) as he/she/THEY grow!!...which sure happens FAST!! In regards to hardwood floors - I agree with Jessica about the "conservative" frapping - Chloe DOES frap in our house but NOT at a FULL THROTTLE rate like I have seen her on carpeting. On the plus side, hardwood floors are MUCH easier to clean up during the puppy stage than carpet!!

Some are born with a natural bob tail. However, that is not the norm, most are born with longer tails that need docking. There are very few natural bob tails.

Spoiled is a good thing! I also see a red ball and two hedgies. Not just kong and chill bones. Liam has his rotating pelt collection (best of all), he ate all the tennis balls, his nyla (yay), his kongs (yippee), his rubber ring (ehh), and the weird orange hard rubber squeaky guy with feet (that is banished when we watch tv). I was in Petco last night but just got cookies.

Mine have never had rear dewclaws but that is possible and if so always removed. Front dewclaws are optional according to the standard but most breeders take them off.

It's done at birth or when the tails are done. I have my vet dock tails and do the dewclaws at the same time. And I stay with my puppies so yes, I know exactly what happens and how.

As for front dewclaw removal, I had a Golden rip his once and trust me, it's better if they're taken off as babies than to go through that!! For me if the dewclaws can come off they will!

Heard from the breeder and 2 of her males are for sure R&W fluffies.

Of course, if it's a good fit for our family, I'll be fine with a fluffy. Hubby said he really didn't want a fluffy, but I'll work on him by showing him beautiful pics of fluffy corgis!!

The breeder hasn't said we'll get a fluffy or not, but I want us prepared for anything. We kindly requested a male non-fluffy, any color. And we may end up with a fluffy male.... :CUTE: It's all good.

Will post pictures as soon as I get them!!

Cuz! Cuz is the round rubber ball with feet! My two love Cuz with that thwap twap sound rather than a squeak......

By the way... I gave Tucker the Red Kong, I didn't know anybetter. I didn't know there is such a thing as a Puppy Kong. The light blue or pink is the puppy Kong.

Tucker wanted nothing to do with the Kong as a puppy then I realized the red Kong was too hard for him. When I got him the puppy Kong, all was well with the world!

There's a big difference between the two? I recently picked up the classic old red for when Mac finally comes to us, but maybe I should hold off on that and get the puppy one.

Also, what's the right size? I believe we have the one that says it's a "large," since the breeds listed seemed to be similar to corgi-size....

I believe the difference is that the puppy one(blue or pink) is a softer rubber than the red or black one is. I think the black one is for strong chewers?

I have the light blue puppy one and the red one - they are the same size - I think it said for dogs up to 30 pounds? - Cody still uses the puppy one also, but he has never been a chewer so I don't worry about him destroying it. Once he is done licking the goodies out of the inside, he is done with it.

Dillydoodle

The large bad cuz is a challenge for my adult corgis to pick up, Dillon can pick it up but he has to bite it really hard and make one heck of a squeak to pick it up ( unless he grabs it's foot). I got him a medium green Dino cuz which he likes a lot, and a medium yellow good cuz that is the prefect size ( just about the same size or slightly larger than a tennis ball...with legs !

As for the kongs... I bought Dillon the blue and white swirled puppy kong to start with. When he was a bit older and his jaws were stronger, i bought him the black tough to destroy kong, but i think it really is a bit of over kill, he has had the same one for a year and it has little teeth marks in it but nothing is close to being destroyed. I think you play that part by ear depending on what level chewer you have... Dillon only chewed his stuff and liked to kill his plush toys best. Gus is not much of a chewer at all, only his bones and the occasional plush toy just to bite down on it, not to rip it apart like Dillon.

Jackie has both the pink puppy kong and the red one (same size as puppy). Like Cody, she is only interested in what's inside the kong, so doesn't chew on the kong itself. We have had both kongs as long as we have had her, and they are both in excellent shape - no teeth marks or anything! And that is no small feat for THE TOY-MINATOR!!! :CUTE:

Heh. Love all the kong stories...
Clogs has the medium red, and loke others here is only interested in it so long as it contains yummies. Cheese keeps her going for a bit. She has learned to deftly insert her tongue into the slit, bit and sits there with the thing apparently hanging off her face for ages!

My daughter has a rottie/huntaway cross. She got her the large kong and the dog opened it up within thirty seconds, just as though she had a secret can opener hidden in her mouth!!  So, no more kongs for Shadow!!

We have a red medium Kong - I got it for Rhys on his 1st birthday. My mom bought him a puppy Kong bone when he was little - I use that for Andy's peanut butter now. She is now starting to pull off little pieces.

We also have some old, different shaped Kongs that they inherited from my mom's dogs - who never touched them.

And yes, mine only care about the Kongs when there is peanut butter in them!

I would definitely recommend the puppy Kongs for the young 'uns. :CUTE:
