We are back from Westminster MD. Tuck and Lu participated in the herding weekend for the 2nd year in a row. We had a great weekend, lots of time with the dogs. Lulu was amazingly quiet at the hotel. She let it all out at the clinic!
Lulu had 2 tests/legs for her Junior Herding Dog title and got the 2 Q's. they may not have been pretty... but she did well. We moved the sheep around pretty well.
Tucker had earned 1 leg for his HCT last year and since the morning judge was the one he Q'd under last year, he couldn't run. So we had one shot at it in the afternoon under the other judge.
And luck of the draw, we got the worst sheep we had all weekend. Poor Tucker tried very hard but we could not keep those sheep together and moving.
We had 10 minutes and he stuck with me the whole time. A few pauses to sample sheep poo. He was looking very tired as the clock was winding down and I sent him into the corner after the sheep and he did it.
He worked very hard, but no Q.
But his instructor here in PA said to let him have fun and get to know sheep are fun to herd. And I think we accomplished that. He seemed to have more fun this time.
Nice drive back from MD, dogs slept and the traffic was pretty light. I took today off so we all slept in a bit.
Tana and Andy came to visit us at the clinic as did another friend from Baltimore. Lots of really cute Corgis! There were 2 12 week pups with tails!!! Yes, they were Pems that won't have their tails docked. Very cute!
