I'm getting a new puppy next week. A Cardigan. You can see pictures here: http://www.coedwig.com/litters.html My puppy is the second picture on the top, the black with lots of white on her face.

Her name will be "Coedwig's Something to Talk About" and we're calling her Rumors.

She'll be here next weekend. And yes, will get more pics then. She was about 6 weeks old in the pics on the web page and is 8 weeks old today.

The little white one, a double merle, is deaf. She has an underdeveloped eye, but can see. She has a pet home for her.

Kim knew that was a possibility but that she's never had one with serious problems. She's only gotten one white anytime she's done a blue to blue breeding. And most haven't had any problems.

Well, she got here safe and sound. Plane was a little late and they had three planes with dogs on them, they got all the puppies off and into the cargo area very quickly!

They (Rumors and her brother Ari) bounced out of the crate and into my arms, tails wagging. They were thrilled to be out of the crate. I took them out to the grass and they both pottyed like good little puppies.

We then delivered Ari to his new momma (my friend Lori) and proceeded to go on our way, delivering Missy (foster corgi) to her new home, stopped to see Scott, and stopped to meet with Jeff before going home. (And Jeff's friends he was giving a ride home from work fell in love with her too!!). She gives kisses quite freely!

It was a long, busy day. Rumors preferred to snuggle on my lap and I let her (shame on me I know!!!) but she did fine and napped much of the way home.

I did get some pictures in the evening, not great ones as she was very busy exploring things. It's so hard to take pictures of puppies moving and my camera's an older one with a delay on it. Anyway, here are some...

So what does Callie think of this new baby?

On Friday, Callie wasn't so sure she wanted to share her "momma". She sat next to me and didn't want anything to do with ANY puppy. But on Sat she decided she was ok.

Right now Callie is in season so she's either got to wear her panties that she hates or she can't run loose in the house. So she's not getting as much play time as she would like. She appears to be on the way out of season, then I think she's going to teach Rumors how to FRAP!

I am a nervous wreck!! Yes, usually they do, then there's the time they lost Trixie.

Jim was at the airport to pick her up, they can't find her. I call the cargo dept.

"Oh, she's not lost" he tells me. "She's here in the airport".

"Do you know where she is?" I ask.

"No"

"Then she's lost".

"No, she's here in the airport"

"But you don't know where?"

"No"

"Then she's lost"

"She's not lost, she's here in the airport"

"If you misplace your keys even in your house don't you consider them lost?"

"Yes".

"Then she's lost"

Well, she shows up. The SkyWest people had helped the Delta guys off load the plane, she was at the SkyWest counter, NEXT to the Delta counter.

I wrote to Delta and ask for the difference in cost from Delta Dash to reg. cargo to be refunded but they did nothing.

I avoided Delta for awhile.

Then there was the time they (I think Contential) wanted to ship her to Seattle via Chicago. I asked if she would get a window seat. Silence, then a no. I said then she doesn't want to go that way. I found a direct flight.

Sheesh!!!

Until I have the dog in my hand I don't assume anything!!

A tiny bit of brindle. She's brindle pointed. And she has a tiny white spot on the inside of one ear too.

Here's a couple other pictures from the weekend. I had a friend come in from Portland to do some research at the geneology library. The library is closed on Sun. so we took her sightseeing. These pictures were taken at the Bonneville Salt Flats and at a rest stop along I-80.

Oh, and we did the LCS no favors this weekend. She was just too cute!!!

I took these at Lori Nichols house where Rumors stayed while Jim was in the hospital again. She likes having a visit with her brother. He's in some of the pictures too. (He's the blue puppy, named Aero. His reg. name is Coedwig's Out of the Blue).

Planning on these being the last ones of Rumors with her ears down. They're currently taped and hopefully will be standing soon! These were taken last Friday (July 30).

I've been so busy with selling our 1st home and inspecting and creating a heavily documented low offer on the home we want. And commuting Erec to music camps. Two more weeks of trips to LA and then school marching band camp and school begins Aug 23. Where did the summer go? Luckily when it is so hot, Chester just sleeps the day away when I'm so busy. He get his 6 or 7am walk though.

LOL, when my breeder was still breeding (she is now retired) she would have little get togethers where some of us would come and play with the puppies to help socialize them. She claimed she always counted how many puppies she had before allowing the guests to leave. No smuggling under coats allowed.:BIGGRIN"

- has sharp teeth and still wants to chew on hands!
- gets in the trash can by my bed
- rips up newspapers
- BARKS!!! (even at cows and horses in the fields on walks)
- steals shoes
- barks at cats because they won't play with her
- isn't completely housebroken
- hates to have her nails done
- is VERY busy
- is VERY smart

Ok, most of that is common for puppies but hey, whatever I can do to discourage you guys. :WINK:

She's fine and one BUSY girl. Sheesh, getting her to be still long enough for a photo is getting harder and harder. (Maybe I need a faster camera....)

She spent the weekend at a local dog show being an ambassador with Callie. We were set up outside the doors to the grooming building so lots of people went in and out. They made lots of new friends.

Oh, she likes to bark at big black dogs and Saint Bernards. I told her they could sit on her and squash her flat but she didn't belive me.

Her nickname is "cuss baby". That's from her Auntie Lori. She says she and her brother Ari are both "cuss babies". And yes, I'm always saying "you little cuss!!!!". She really is BUSY and she's figured out how to go over baby gates and 2 foot exercise pens (need to bring in a taller one now).

There's a puppy match in Boise after one of the shows. (Boise shows are a week from today.) I'm sure my report on that will be very interesting. Wanna bet she gaits with the leash in her mouth? Not taking bets of if she'll let any one look at her teeth though. She's sure doesn't like that. (Doesn't like her nails done either.)

Then again I did want one with some "spark", so can't complain. She does keep me on my toes though and she's fun to watch play!! She's almost too smart for her own good!

Well, guess I'll go take her out to potty in the rain and hope we don't get in a downpour while we're out. Looks like it's let up some for now, so I'd better hurry.

Oh my, she sounds just like Millie when she was a pup. Leash in the mouth, well, only if she let me put it on her to start. At her class they used to laugh at me when she did that. Cuss baby, indeed. I think my kids learned to cuss when we got her (hearing it from me, that is). She turned out good as gold though, and I bet Rumors will too!

We're back from the show, got back Monday but have been playing catch up on email and house stuff!

Rumors had a great time at the show. She was in the match on Sat. evening and she did WONDERFUL!! She didn't win, a younger puppy did (we got out cuted can you believe?) but she did every thing I asked of her. She walked nicely, didn't shy from the judge, didn't jump off the table, so I was very pleased!!!

We saw her breeder and Kim took some pics of her but I don't have them yet, also I think Kim's friend got a video of her in the match. I'll ask if I can post them here when I get them.

She's going through a fear period where she barks at other dogs and people too, but doesn't want them to come close to her. We are working on that and I did give people treats to give her. And one lady with a Tibetan Mastiff let her come up to her dog and sniff him. He drooled on her!!! :BIGGRIN" But it was a good experience for her so that was ok. We also took her to watch groups one night and get used to the clapping and cheering that goes on there. She did well with that.

She got lots of treats and did well, and this was an indoor show. Noisy in the grooming area, noisy in the building too.

I'm excited to be able to show her next year. She was a month too young for this show and I won't be going out till next spring again.

I don't think she even noticed!! Sheesh, she does her share of "sliming" Callie and Blaze so I don't think she even cared!

It was a 3 mos. old brindle cardi puppy and darn cute!!! And I was happy with her, it was a match for practice and we got the practice so I didn't care that she didn't win Best Cardigan Puppy.
