I had something very bizarre happen to me today! I went to my mom's house to visit, and took Shippo along, and I grabbed is tennis ball and we ran out into the yard. The yard has a chain link fence all around it.

So anyway, we were having a nice game of fetch, and these two guys who were passing by stopped and got my attention. They said, "Hey, is that a Corgi?"

I said, "Yup!"

They said, "Wow, what a beautiful dog! I've never seen such a gorgeous Corgi before! They're so hard to find, and I've been trying to find one for my mom!"

Then they said something I never expected:

"I'll give you $1,000 for your dog! Whaddaya say?!"

I stood there for a second before I burst out laughing... then I realized they were serious lmfao! I of course declined, and they left. It was just totally shocking. Who would just pawn off their dogs for a few bucks? And Shippo's worth a heck of a lot more than $1,000 anyway lmao...

Wowie....yah, $1000 is not even close! Maybe $10000000000. Hahaha! :P That is truly a strange encounter...

Never will I sell Benny for any amount of money. He is part of the family and my four-legged companion.

How cool, but we all know Shippo is priceless! I could never put a price on Gizmo either.

 Amazing.

I don't think I would have been so nice about their request, though!

Cheetah,

I don't think their intentions were as good as they were wanting you to believe.

creepy really... I wonder about people like that... would you walk up to a new mom and say, "cute baby, we have always wanted one.... I'll give ya $1,000 for him" It is just icky.. I would have put shippos leash back on and taken him in the house and watched him like a hawk until time to leave that area! i dont trust anyone with my baby....and i dont put anything past some of the sickos in today's society...

I think that it's a good thing that Shippo doesn't live there, because I have a feeling that they will be scouting the area now hoping to find him outdoors, and alone. This is actually very common now, the theft of popular breeds right from the home. I wouldn't trust him outdoors there for quite some time.

When I've had people ask me what my dogs are worth or how much they cost, I always say they aren't worth anything because they can't be bred or shown. Obviously, they are priceless and they have cost me a fortune! But I don't want anyone to think there would be any monetary value in taking them.

Something like that happened here about a year or so ago.

Zack, Zoey and I were out walking not far from our house and a car made a u-turn to stop in front of us. A couple got out of the car and approached us. They said' "Corgis, right?" I said yes and then they asked if I'd ever thought about getting the dogs an agent to do commercials, TV and movies.

Now I wasn't born yesterday so I gave the guy my brother's office (the attorney) phone number to contact us and never expected to hear anything more about it.

Well, I found out later that the couple was legit when I walked into the PetCo near me and found the same couple busily making a commercial for Petco with a pair of doxies. I guess I just missed out on Zack and Zoey's one chance of fame and fortune.:ARG:

That's a good analogy Emilie! And I would have kept a close eye on him as well, for the same reasons! Nice to know that others admire your dog (Who wouldn't? He's gorgeous). But that's a little too much for comfort!

LMFAO... don't worry guys. Shippo is NEVER outside alone over there, and over here, if he ever is alone (not often and for maybe 5 minutes max), Eevee is out there, and **** would freeze over before she'd let anyone strange just stroll into the yard lmfao... My LANDLORD tried to come in our house to fix something when I wasn't here, and Eevee had MET her before, and still would not even let her open the door... she puts on quite a show at our picture window when I'm not here LMFAO...

So yeah... I wouldn't let anything happen to my babies either. >^^;<

OK.... let's turn this around....

WHAT IF: The people had offered the dogs $1,000 for their Mom?

Would they take it?

$1,000 could buy a lot of bully sticks and Kongs!

Here it would depend on the dog. Some of them aren't "mine".... (We have yours, mine, ours, and dogs that really belong to the boys...)
