I've seen it posted a few times, people talking about frosty paws and either not being able to find it, or some other things and so I thought I'd post here, with Gizmo birthday coming up, we have a few in the freezer ready to go.

We make our own frosty paws, much better for the dog, as I just found the ingredients of the actual frosty paws online... kind of made me sick.

So here ya go

32 oz. vanilla yogurt, but I'm sure you could substitute flavors out if you wanted.
1 mashed banana or large jar of banana baby food, we just cut a banana up small, and throw it in with everything.
2 T. peanut butter, we use creamy, but if your dog likes crunch go for it!
2 T. honey.

And I'm sure you could cut up some other fruit, or sub some other baby food if you wanted and use it.

We use the GladWare 4oz cups but you can use whatever small cup you want, even yogurt cups!

I made the frosty paws and served them yesterday. One to Cooper, one to my husband and one for me. (lol had to try them)! Being frozen cut the sweetness as I had sampled the mix pre freeze. We 3 happily slurrped away.
Cooper took his to the carpet:EEK: and licked it, then started to chew it up. He returned to the "spot" several times to lick the carpet just in case any bites were missed:TWITCHY:

Cooper gives the recipe a 2 paws up. I found silicone ice cube trays, real cube shapes 2x2, 15 to a tray and the tray is only 6x4. I got 2 trays and they stack. The recipe filled the 2 trays plus 3, 4oz dixie cups filled 3/4. Coop is all set. Oh, I found vanilla low fat organic yogurt on sale, too!

Next batch will be berry!

Thanks Elizabeth and thanks Connie and Cooper for your review! Must give this a try for my two - I wonder what edible container you could freeze them in? Hmmm, must think on that. :BIGGRIN"

What about the regular wafer cones for ice cream? Might be too many calories, but a fun treat for them.

Good one, or you could try to make your own waffles, and bowl them... or if you could... maybe do wax paper in a bowl and pop it out, so it's a little more than an ice cube.

We made Frosty Paws this morning!

And the boys love them! All of my boys. I put a popsicle stick into one of them before freezing, and Gary had it for dessert after lunch with this Cappuccino.

I'm going to be baking salmon cookies too......

I made Elizabeth's recipe last year and put the (blender-ed) mixture in a plastic ice cube tray. They pop out nicely, and then I don't have to worry about "portion control." I think the size is just right for a treat. Angel and Andy love them, but who wouldn't? The ingredients are good for corgwyn and hoomans alike.

Thanks for posting the recipe again. A perfect treat for the heat -- or anytime, say the A-Team! :BIGGRIN"

Mmmm Frosty paws.

I'm going to try to find a smaller ice cube tray and make them that way because we found frosty bites, and Gizmo loves those.

We used them as an "ace" today, but we used two Kong toys and sealed the little holes with corks.
Tomorrow we will se if it was a success.

I put in a bit of peanut butter and a small treat inside of the Kong to block the hole.

I would think a dog could pull the cork out and in fact might even swallow it or chew it up. I'd not be using corks to seal holes in Kongs.

We just seal them until the "inside" is frozen to prevent a frigde clean up session because of this.

I actually put mine in small plastic gladlock containers and then hold one in each hand for the boys to lick.. it makes it last longer.. I make sure no cheating and biting LOL! I also make it in the kongs for them to eat on the deck in the cooler temps ( like spring and fall and early winter when it is not too cold out) Like barbara, I use peanutbutter to plug the hole on the bottom of the kong and then put them in a zip lock bag upright, just in case.. the last thing i want to find is a puddle of frozen yogurt all over my freezer!
