Tonight, as Andy curled up next to me and began licking the side of my laptop, it made me think:
What weird things do your Corgis like to lick?
Andy likes to lick my laptop, my fingers, and my toes (she's licking my fingers as I'm trying to type this!). Rhys likes to lick his dog tags and the metal hook-thing to his leash - he will do it for hours, seriously. Little goofball. :TWITCHY:

Rhys is a funny guy - never bring him north Tana - licking one's metal tags and hooks is not a good thimg when it's well below zero! Ouch!!

Jemma is a licker of people. She's a sniper kisser. You'll be minding your own business and blam! Outta nowhere the tongue gets you right on the mouth! Yuck!

Rupert is not a licker. But will sit and slowly lick the inside of my sandals - he's just plain wierd. The only time I get a lick, is when we are in the car and he stands with his back legs on the back seat and his front on the console next to me. It's his favourite thing in the world and I sometimes get a very small lick on my ear - as if to say "Mom, this is just the best". It really is very sweet.

Delilah has two favorite licking spots - anyones ears (- AND I mean deep cleaning!) and my daughter's feet just after she gets home from work! LOL

Tonite, Cathy came home, kicked of the shoes, and started to relax. Delilah, Peanut and Bugsy were licking her feet, especially between the toes. Her comment to me was, "Either I need a pedicure or I just had one".+JIGGY+

Maybe these Corgis are Baptists since they like foot washings!! I couldn't pass that up.

Both Zia and Zeke like to lick mine and hubby's legs after we get out of the bathtub or shower. They like to lick feet, hands, faces. They also like to lick the lotion off of my legs. They lick each other, too. Every now and then Zip will let Zia lick his face. To sum it up...I guess they'll lick anything!

Milo licks my legs and ankles after I get out of the shower too! (Guess he thinks I require further cleaning). He deep cleans ears and mouths too.
It is soooo gross, I hate when he does that and I make him stop if I catch him. He likes to lick the carpet now and then and he will sometimes lick books if they are left on the floor. More than once i've picked up a book with pupple snarkle on it. ewwww.

Taffy always tries to lick the dremel when I do her toenails! Aurora always licks toes and ankles when we get out of the shower, guess we're just not right yet until the dog slobber is attached *lolol*

Wicca and Sam like to lick legs and feet- especially after lotion! Weird things that wicca licks- crate doors, the couch, and toys....Vito doesn't lick...he isn't much of a kisser....

I hear the feet/hands/face/other body parts, especially those are are sweaty and stinky to us, are pretty palatable to dogs because of the salts that wind up in your skin. I've known MANY a dog who loved licking stinky feet. Can anyone add to this?

My last Pem loved to lick feet and legs. Cody, does neither, he is just not a "licker"; but will give kisses when I ask.

Pepper was the stealth leg licker in public. We'd be walking along in a crowd and she'd spot the person in shorts with lotion on and all of a sudden she'd get in a lick and I'd only know because the person would immediately look around.

Pepper LOVED toe jam. I'm the only one who isn't terribly ticklish on my feet. We would torture my son or husband who we think was sleeping too late and place Pepper near their feet to give a wakeup lick. Pepper's tongue was massaging as she licked and I loved the foot wash. And if I had a mosquito bite (I told you they find me first) her tongue would be the perfect "scratcher" of the bite on my toes.

I think that I have mentioned that Mojo likes her kisses French, and that she got the vet good when I dropped her off to be altered recently, upset the vet, and she and the staff started wearing masks around Mojo, I think they have that in her paperwork now. Mojo has an abnormal lizard tongue, and it can really get you!!! And look out for her when you get out of the shower, she can sense that there is a clean person in the house and she goes crazy until she puts some Mojo love on them. (And I'm the type of person that really pampers with the lotions and gels, really put effort into how I feel, so it irritates me that I can no longer feel clean for longer than five minutes!!!) When we're out with Mojo, she just has to see someone from a distance, and her tongue will start going, she has to lick them, and we give strong warnings, because she's shocked a number of people. And they always give us this weird look, as if we trained her to be so forward! Miss Gambler freely gives kisses and licks, she's really emotional, and tuned into how we're feeling. She always lets us know that she cares.

Gus is a licker, he licks hands, feet, arms , legs , face, ( he especially likes my hands) and will lick until you push him away, he seems almost obsessive about it sometimes. he will lick the blanket sometimes...

Dillon likes to lick my husband's neck, and ears, and he loves my hands and licking lotion off my legs...he likes feet too but has learned that I am way too ticklish for him to lick my feet...he is another one who will try to slip you the tongue if you aren't careful!! LOL Dillon will also sometimes lay on the couch and i will catch him licking the leather or licking the throw blanket i have on there... and have also seen him lick the oriental rug...\

MGM-It sounds like you have two super great dogs living witih you. I'd love to see a video of Mojo and her flickering tongue!! At least they don't hold back their affection and I think that's great. I'd rather have them do that than nip at everyone they met. I've never seen anyone bleed and get angry over a smooch!!

Jackie does the post-shower licking and also the lotion licking. Other than that - she's not much of a licker.

DavidColt: they are really special, and I'm thankful every day that I have them, and will always treat them like gold for all that they give me. FluffyJessica: Why is it that they can't handle us being clean??????? They just have to get their smell on us, drives me nuts. I love perfumes, cremes, and lotions, etc........ but I only smell like Mojo "NO:": This past weekend, I accidentally fell asleep, and accidentally slept around seven hours, and was supposed to be furniture shopping, so when I woke up, I was rushed, hubby was flying out the next morning. Granted, this is Las Vegas, and the malls are open till midnight, and most stores and restaurants are 24/7, but when I picked up Mojo to say hello(she went crazy when she saw me) not only did she begin licking me into submission, but she urinated all over me :REALLYMAD: So I took this REALLY long shower, only to have to go through some Mojo love so i could get out the door!!!

Sounds like she's a bit hyper, MGM. Maybe you need to call the Dog Whisperer to come out and spend some time with her. Maybe he'll have to take her to his "psychology center" for a couple of weeks and introduce her to Daddy.!!

I love Daddy too. He's so ferocious looking, but such a sweet boy. If that had been me in your story MGM . . . I think Mojo might have needed that helmet we have been talking about!!

Disclaimer: I am just kidding - I would never launch a dog. That is wrong.

Yes he is. I like that boy as he always seems so layed back and I've never seen him aggressive. Cesar has another like him, Popeye but you don't see as much of him as Daddy. When Cesar has a problem with a larger dog, he always seems to bring Daddy along to cure aggression in another dog.

Wow! It looks like Corgis like the post-shower licking. Actually, Andy and Rhys only do that occasionally. Now, my Lab Tess (who is living with my mom) loves to do the post-shower, post-lotion lick thing. She always does that to me or my mom.

I'm glad to see that some of the other Corgis also lick some weird things...I thought Rhys's bizarre metal-licking was super-strange. :TWITCHY:

Deb - I guess if I take him up north, I should keep him away from any lightpoles in the dead of winter (a la A Christmas Story).

or the linoleum in the kitchen. He'll just lay there and lick it until I tell him to stop. I've caught him trying to lick Max's face too, but Max is too macho to get licked by another boy dog and tells Gary to back off when he tries it.

None of my other Corgis have ever done this, nor do any of my other dogs I have right now. I was beginning to wonder if Gary had some strange fetish or something (he IS a strange little dog), it's nice to know there are other dogs out there licking things.....even if they are things that they should perhaps not be licking......

Wow! I'm glad that the toe licking-foot washing thing is normal. I thought Ziggy was strange. Every evening once I've put my flip flop clad feet on the footstool in the living room Ziggy comes up and starts to lick them. Though its a little slimmy, I like it. But as I said I thought it was a little strange. Glad to know its okay! Thanks

Zack pre-washes my face every morning as we wake up. But I figured that was just about normal for any dog. I wish I could describe how he does it and how cute it is. But suffice to say that the only real reason I put up with it is that he looks so happy when he's doing it.

Those are the only two big lickers. The other two are much more discreet and discriminating about the licking thing.

She would drive my husband crazy. He would yell "Pepper stop" and she would give him the "what is with you?" look. I'd just laugh. Thank you Donna for triggering that memory.

Yeah, I love it how they give you that look like you're the one with the problem. Another funny thing, Max my Corgi/VallhundX has a funny habit when he's ticked off or fed up with something - he sighs, but when he does he puffs out the sides of his lips/mouth, kind of like an exasperated snort of some kind. He's a pretty funny guy sometimes, my sons had him wearing one of their t-shirts on the weekend. He looked pretty macho swaggering around in his muscle shirt with all his chest fur sticking out. The funny thing was, was that he didn't mind at all. LOL.

LOL - Millie used to lick the footstool in the family room. It drove my husband crazy too, he couldn't stand it. I tried to clean it but she would just go back and lick it some more the next night. Finally when I got one of those carpet cleaning machines I used the upholstery attachment on it. She never licked it again.

She also likes to lick my youngest son's feet. She's a brave one to do that, I tell ya.

Toby is a leg licker, but only when there is lotion on them. He also likes to lick legs just out of the shower. His other weird thing he licks is the glass shower door, and once in awhile, I'll see a little pink tongue under the door, trying to get the shower water. He is also famous for sneaking a lick of FatMax, my cat, who hates dog slobber on him.

Speaking of looks that they can give, Mojo has developed this look and twist of the head that she will give to Miss Gambler. It's like she is asking her, "What does that crazy red-head want us to do now?"

This morning after my shower, Zack indulged in some rather frantic licking of my lower legs. When I shooed him away, he was visibly upset, but he came back and sat down on the bed with me and stared at me. This may be a little too anthropomoric, but I swear he all but said, "I just got you smelling the way I wanted you too. And you go and wash it all off. How am I going to protect you from being stolen by some other dog if you don't smell right?"

I may be losing my grip, but I let him get a few more licks in so he could relax. And you know what, he did settle down and relax!

Do you think when they lick us, they're marking their territory?

That's exactly what I think, Mojo HAS to get hold of us after we shower, she goes crazy, and we know that she does not calm down until it's out of her system. We call it Mojo Love. I used to smell great, now I just smell like Eau du Mojo. +SAD+
