Patricia:

She's beautiful! She looks so happy, too. That picture of you (implied) and her on the floor is priceless. Thanks for working so hard to share your little girl with us

very sweet!

would love to get such a nice picture of Em or Chloe.... Emma hears the camera and runs the other way. Chloe hears the camera and runs to me - but sooooo close I can't focus!

I know, I know - cant focus that well when she's not close either

She is a lovely girl. That first shot reminds me of a video I saw on YouTube about "A talking Corgi" or something like that. This Corgi was in that same position but making all sorts of weird sounds like an Elephant trumpeting and grumbly sounds. It was great. Wish I could find it again.

She really is a beautiful dog, and always looks so happy and healthy. Have you ever mentioned how she came by her name? If you have, I missed it, and it's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl, she even knows how to wear make-up properly.

The oldest dog in our house is Sampson, a large 7yo black lab. I named her Delilah because of him. We have 2 chihuahua's named Peanut and Princess - the two "peas" that are siblings from different litters and at that time had 2 cats - Draco and Groucho....so we were trying to sorta carry the theme of matching the names...... Princess and the Pea, Sampson and Delilah, both cats having a 2 syllable name ending in O. I now have a poodle puppy that I got for Mother's Day. Registered him as "Sir Bugs Alot"! He got his name "Bugsy" because he loves to bug the other dogs. LOL Found out after we decided on that name that his father is "Skeeter Bug"! Couldn't have worked out better.....

This is Princess and Peanut - she is the long-hair chihuahua:

Thanks for explaining, and for the new photo, you have some beautiful dogs. I love the names that you chose, and after you pointed out the other's name, Delilah was a perfect choice. I like unique names, and they should have meaning as well. (PS I would have picked Bugsy for a name, but that's the Vegas girl in me, lol. I wanted to name Miss Gambler Lola, but my husband put his foot down, and it's one of the rare times that I listened to him. I wanted a showgirl name, something Vegasy, then after nixing Lola, he made a comment to me one night when we were playing slots, he referred to me as "Miss Gambler", and we both, at the same time, yelled out "MISS GAMBLER", and the name stuck. Mojo is short for Mojave Girl(we found her in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley), and Mojo stands for Luck, and she had that, and has given us some, so it's fitting.) Yep, names should mean something.

How Cool! I love how you picked both names. Isn't it unusual sometimes how we decide what to call a pet by a particular name? Maybe we should start a thread = How Did Your Dog Get Its Name?

I'm sure there are some really neat stories out there!

I totally agree, I would love to know how everyone on here chose their dog's name. You start the thread Patricia, it was your idea, I can't wait to read the stories.

Delilah is a lovely girl! She's got a cute little face.

You really have your hands full with the pups! Is Delilah the "queen" of the group or is Princess? :SPINNY:

PRINCESS! She rules, hands down! Delilah just goes along with it. Once in a great while Princess and Delilah will start to go at it (usually over Peanut or a toy), but they both stop as soon as either Cathy or I yell stop. Delilah has not decided she wants to be top dog. I think as long as she is getting her fair share (and plus - just cause she's soooo cute and sweet), she doesn't care who's the Alpha.

I love the photo of Delilah, she really is very pretty. The chis are cuties too... Peanut reminds me of my Grandfather's chi, Taffy, who went to the bridge about 20 yrs ago- I have many childhood memories of him... I am kind of surprised that delilah isn't the boss!

I'm having lots of fun observing Miss Gambler and Mojo, and seeing the very clear dynamic of alpha and beta at work. I've seen that there are definite benefits to being a beta. Miss Gambler is not only more relaxed, but Mojo is the one always getting into trouble. Miss Gambler just sits back, waits for us, and I swear to you, she grins when Mojo gets caught.
